I checked Band Camp and Naked Mile. They had their moments, but were a waste overall.

Blink 182 did work with the first 3 movies I think.

Probably will have a song or two in the movie.

It looks at the very least like an honest sequel though trailers can be misleading. It could very well just be a case of everyone coming back because their careers have been a mixed bag of poop since 2003.

We'll see. By default its better than all of the DTV sequels they pooped out in the last decade.

As bad as the trailers made this movie out to be, it was actually a surprisingly good film and probably one of the better "official" sequels in the franchise.

It didn't try to be too over-the-top like the past flicks and paid homage to the previous installments along the way and even offered a nice look back at the 90's in general. There were actually quite a few jokes that I laughed at and even the ones that didn't work were fine since the overall tone and pacing with everything flowed well. It was also nice seeing the old gang back together (and some of the nice cameos from the smaller roles) and witness everything come full circle. In a way I felt like I grew up along with these characters since I was a teen when I saw the first flick, and now I'm grown and have a family like some of them as well, so I could relate to some of the changes the characters also faced.

But anyway, overall I had a good time watching the movie and looking back at how things were along with the cast. American Pie fans will def. enjoy this. 7/10

If this truly is the last of the official sequels then I think it ended on a high note.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing like a vacation with the main guys again. They could bring their families, of course, but it'd be interesting to see'em vacation to another country or something and get mixed up in weird sheet there

All of that is well and good, but you didn't mention the most important aspect.. What's the titty situation here? Is there ample boobage to be found? Or did this movie go tittless (in which case, I will not watch it)

This is pertinent need-to-know information here!

Bump to add in my two cents being a big fan of the first 3 movies and posting a big review on them on these forums some years back.

I enjoyed it. It was nice to finally get this idea off the ground after a near decade since American Wedding and a lot of pointless filler garbage sequels in between. For the most part I concur with earlier analysis from Fright on the matter.

Even though the writers are different. They did do a pretty good job of balancing charm/nostalgia with modern times without getting too forced about it. Which was a big problem when compared to Scream 4. Another sequel that came years and years later. Albeit a different genre.

    Things I liked.

    - They made Tara Reid look almost as good as she did in Pie 1999 and better looking than she did when she looked strung out in AP2 2001
    - Obviously having all the old characters back including the women
    - Tits
    - Simple throwbacks to the first 3 movies
    - Simple story that didn't try to do too much
    - They didn't OVERDO Stifler like they did in American Wedding - they wrote him more in tone with the first 2 movies, that or they had other characters to focus on to take the spotlight off him

    Things I didn't like

    - Dania Rameriz - She can't act all that well no matter how hot she is and her character was filler which was a lame plot device for Finch it seemed
    - Too much of Jim's dad - I get that they wanted to do more with him but he was basically a bit character in the original trilogy used for small jokes
    - Too much of the Asian Milf dude - This isn't Harold and Kumar, he may have got his break with the Pie movies but he was a bit character
    - Not enough Jessica or Nadia - I get that they weren't all friends all the time but Jess was tied to Vicky and Nadia was tied to Jim, needed more time

In closing, I thought it was a serviceable sequel. Do I think any more need to be made? No. Will more be made? Honestly hard to tell, the first two movies were real hits and the 3rd was kinda just there as was this one. Which might not be a bad thing.

Agreed about Stifler, that's one thing I forgot to point out. His character just became more obnoxious with each sequel, and he was almost completely unrealistic in part 3. He was definitely toned down in this one, which was what his character really needed to become somewhat "likable" again.

Well it does seem that there are rumblings on Pie 5 at least according to a couple sources earlier this month.

    http://wegotthiscovered.com/movies/a...ing-universal/
    http://seriouslyomg.com/?p=24769
    http://screenrant.com/american-pie-5...n-schlossberg/

Regarding that second link. Even though it was from the London premiere of Pie 4.

It does seem like that would make the most sense for a potential 5th film.

    'American Vacation' of sorts.

Hopefully they can keep it as fresh and charming as Reunion was. I'd definitely prefer something along the lines of Pie 1999, Pie 2 and Reunion than I would another American Wedding. Don't get me wrong, I do like American Wedding but to me its definitely a notch below the other 3 movies. Too much Stifler and the other characters didn't have a whole lot to do.

The other thing I'd worry about is if they decide to modernize it too much and make it like other stuff these days like Hangover, even Harold and Kumar due to the fact that Pie 4 didn't do that hot in the states and made most of its bank overseas, granted it was pretty big bank.

Who knows, they secured the writers of Pie 4 and Biggs and Scott have Executive Producer rights so they have complete control over their characters so who knows. Maybe it happens in 2 years, maybe it doesn't happen at all.

The 4th one ended things on a such a simple note but the franchise is a money machine.
