I don't think it was any serious discussion. Englund said after the second or maybe third film a teenager came up to him on the street and said "Dude, do you think you could kick Jason's ass." Englund mentioned it to Shaye and I think thats where it originally came from, but due to Paramount they couldn't get a deal. After New Line got the rights is when they were able to start the ball rolling and churn out scripts. Which there were hundreds of.

Some seemed actually interesting, one of them even ended in hell with Krueger and Jas about to run at each other when all of a sudden chains grab the both of them, Pinhead appears and says "Gentlemen, do we have a problem?" That would have been so fucking cool.

Ah yeah "who would win in a fight" is just classic fanboy fodder. I remember hearing about "leaked scripts" (probably just fanfic) as far back as elementary school. All after Jason goes to hell though. It's cool that they were willing to play along with all the hype. Because lets face it the movie probably wouldn't have been made by a studio without it.

Checked this out tonight and thought it was fairly decent. Definitely not the disaster the critics and horror fans are saying it is.

It is kind of pedestrian and not as good as the '03 reboot but I enjoyed it a lot more than The Beginning.

Watched this again tonight and enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Although, the first 40-45 minutes or so are definitely the better part of the film. I LOL'd hard at the one liners and had a great time. Even though the second half isn't as good, my only real problem with this sequel is the timeline issue. Other than that there's some good gore (the CGI didn't bother me quite as much this time... basically only one kill kinda misuses it.), a hot cast, and a handful of very fun moments. Screw the hate!

The timeline didn't work for me. We all know the original is set in the 70's so why not just set this film in the 90's.

I thought it was pretty decent. Leatherface was cool as was the final girl Alexandra Daddario, I thought their relationship was pretty cool. I did dislike how they made every other character totally unlikable though...

kinda felt bad for him because his girlfriend kept flaunting herself off in front of the other two. Plus he had the most brutal death in the film, so you gotta feel kinda sorry. Also one of the best scares in the flick when Leatherface jumps out at him in the basement hallway... or the "catacombs" as the cop called it.

That makes me think that the reason for Heather taking leatherface's side is because she was drawn to insanity from the betrayal of her best friend and boyfriend (she had to of put two and two together), almost being killed by her cousin, and finding out her blood relatives had all been killed by town folk... people complaining about thinking it's stupid that she joined his side is kinda ridiculous. The evidence is right there and pretty clear IMO.

For this type of film the characters aren't that bad. One dimensional but not overly annoying.

Not as bad as say, the cast from the Friday remake.

She read up that her entire family, including her mother were murdered by the town, including her adopted father and then the town turned on her so why wouldn't she join Leartherface.
