Honestly I think they must have kept this ending just for the buzz and for getting asses in the seats to witness it for themselves. No logical or sane filmmaker would keep this in the final cut of a movie for any other reason.Originally Posted by IKickAssForTheLord

CGI bone cracking
Multiple voices talking at once
Screams
CGI bone breaking and screams combined
A final "fight" scene
Disappointment spreads across theater
That's what the movie is going to look like. I hope I'm wrong, but meh.

As for ruining the movie, are you kidding? Other than saying it sucks there isn't one spoiler in this entire thread! Every thread about a movie in this entire forum has people either loving or hating a movie. It is a horror movie message board after all. The trailer has more spoilers in it than anything said within these posts.

Not sure how thats not saying much. Third best opening weekend of all time is quite impressive. There have been hundreds (perhaps thousands) of movies given tons of publicity and hype as this in the past that bombed.
It will be even more amazing if it doesn't drop off completely this coming weekend.

The last thing you see (what I've read) was actually created by the distributor, the folks that bought the right to market and show the film. He's already been interviewed about his intent and that last thing you see is apparently their (distributor/marketing) attempt to "save" it somehow. He had no intention for it to follow a traditional 3-act structure with a nice, tidy resolution (that's actually the Hollywood/"Studio" way to craft a film). It's an experimental piece and he ends it in a fairly logical manner when taken in context with its high concept.
It's supposed to be appreciated for the experience the audience has viewing the film. Like a carnival ride I suppose.
