I think "The orphan" is the english title for "Esther".

"El dia de la bestia" is a great horror comedy.

I used to like "El arte de morir" but it's not an horror movie as it rather deals with fantastic. "El sin nombre" is a pretty good and hopeless thriller.

Spain has given birth to some great movies over the last 15 years but not only in the horror genre. "Intacto" is still a very unique movie to this day.

I'm a fan of Guillermo del Toro. The Orphanage and Pan's Labyrinth are great movies. I haven't really watched many other Spanish movies, but this thread has sparked my interest in some

For starters let's say that Guillermo del Toro is from Mexico.
One of my favorites is "Tesis" a great little film that deals with the whole snuff film theme.
"The Nameless" is also another good one out there. I also enjoyed "The Nun" quite a bit.

Alex de la Iglesia is an intersting director. I've seen a movie about neighbors he directed some years ago that had hilarious moments.

"el sin nombre" = "the nameless", isn't it?

I haven't seen "Tesis" so far but I've heard it's a great movie and deserves to be seen indeed.

Snuff 102 is a film by Mariano Peralta from Argentina. If you are into films like August Underground but with a lot more talking and I swear to this day that the girls being tortured was actually getting hit for real... this is for you. I have a signed copy by Mariano.
Honestly if there is anyone here that has not seen Tesis... you should ASAP.

That Alex de la Iglesia film about the neighbors is titles "La Comunidad" He is one of my most favorite directors. His film for "Films to keep you awake" titled "The baby's room" is outstanding.
