I have rarely been as excited as I was when I heard Del Toro was adapting this story into a film. My favorite H.P. story of all time. And after "Pans Labyrinth", how could he go wrong? He seemed so passionate, so dedicated to this project. Hearing that Tom Cruise was considered for the lead role (whatever you may think of him, he would have lent big name credence to the film) also intrigued me. Now that the project has died, my heart is broken. While some of the films adapted from his stories have been fun (Re-animator), none have been entirely faithful. And I thought that Toro would have brought that into this film.
Is anyone out there as disappointed as me?
