I wouldn't buy any of those movies. In saying this 'The King's Speech' is pretty good though.

I've only seen "Inception" from these lists so far. Don't like I've missed something except maybe for "The king's speech".

Just reminds me why I don't go to the theater anymore. Then again one theater out here will for a week or two only holds Riff Trax and over seas releases such as possibly The Raid and The Kick. They have done it before I hope they do it again.

It's mind boggling - that in this age of global economic recession, the amount of money spent on movies this year is frightening...

HP Deathly Hallows 2 grossing over $400million dollars in 6 months - it's just scary....

However, it would be more interesting to see what the budgets were for those movies above, and see which ones actually MADE a profit in 2011...I'm betting there are a few who haven't...

Just watched MI - Ghost Protocol - and it's awesome, however the alleged budget for the movie was $300 MILLION !! That's just ridiculous.

few worth buying on DVD but a lot of them were entertaining enough for a watch. I thought Tucker n Dale versus Evil was my favorite of 2011. I mean it was released in Dec. of last year but lets face it noone saw it till this year unless they downloaded it.

It's happened before in previous recessions - certain recreational spending actually gous up in hard times, most notably in cinema attendances and I can totally see why. If the peeps have to go without a summer holiday or a car upgrade then it's natural that a night out at the pictures and a meal is the next best thing.
I had no idea that The Hangover 2 was so successful though, that has surprised me.
