But part five was a give me in the platinum trophy department, as for Leon coming back I don't think much
about him he is a little soft spoken wuss to begin with.

New Details, characters.
New Trailer.
Looks like a big RE2 reunion and I've always felt the
Spoiler...big bad
seen in this trailer was something Capcom always had in their back pocket in case Wesker kicked the can.

I'm skipping this. This game doesn't feel or resemble anything of Resident Evil. And I know that's just my big Nostalgia I'm hanging on to for dear life, but with all do with seriousness, the RE that was once scary and interesting just turn a hard turn onto Call of Duty meets Gears of War...
RE is parcially an action game it had been from the beginning, I understand that espeically with the cliched endings where something explodes in the end...but they had potential and they had creativity in the suspense and creatures to frighten us...I know we're suppose to be getting with the times, but since when did Resident Evil have a friggin' dash of we're-definately-going-the-mindless-action-route?
Don't let me hurt your fun. I enjoyed RE4 as a guilty pleasure. RE:Code Veronica X I never got to beat but I didn't think it tried too hard to be too actiony...aside from Claire doing that stupid Matrix move...RE5 was fuckin' BORING, and kind of insensitive about certain things, let's not get into that...
RE6 is WAY too much for me to handle and I hope this'll be the last of the franchise to take on because I'm just sick of my favorite old school games that were made for the fans to become trashed into action games.
Come to think of it, doesn't my comment seem silly after all my ranting I've done on the Walking Dead thread?

IMO RECV was quite possibly the most intricate, well layed out entry in the series, certainly one of the freshest. Unfortunately also the most repetitive by far. I felt like it tried too hard to combine the good aspects of RE1-RE2 with multiple scenarios/separate scenarios and combined them all into one scenario and it REALLY came off way too long. It would have worked better if it just followed the RE1 or RE2 formula of separate scenarios or just a split up scenario from different angles.
I enjoy RE0, RE1, RE4 and RE2 much more than RECV in terms of replay value. Hell even RE3 which I don't like much.

The last time I played RECV I got so pissed off because at the end of the game I'd left the fire extinguisher from the beginning of the game at that exchange locker or whatever, so I didn't have the magnum and was having a hell of a time trying to kill the final boss. But aside from that, I'd say my preference for the games would run as RE2, RE/RECV (tied for second), RE3, REmake, and then the rest of it is just a bunch of drivel.

Game is pretty sweet so far. I beat it with Leon and Helena last night but the good about this game is that there are 3 different versions. I'm playing it with Chris Redfield and his partner Piers right now and you don't go threw the same game with different people. They have completely different storylines that intersect with each other.
And the gaming experienc so far with Chris is different than it was with Leon. Leon's was more horror based holy shit theres a bunch of zombies chasing me while Chris's at the moment is more warfare type game play because he works for a conter-bioterrorism unit that fights engineered monsters and soldiers. The third story that I haven't played yet is little Sherry Berkin from Resident Evil 2 all grown up, shes a special agent now and is in charge of protecting a mercenary that might be immune to the virus.

well it has changed A LOT. It went from a scary action/puzzle game which I did enjoy a lot, to a game where you run around and shoot things. Theres very little in the puzzle department and when there is a puzzle its like a chimp putting the right shape in the slot. pretty easy. So it has its draw backs but its a fun action game and I'm having a good time with it. It does make me laugh my butt off sometimes. This game should be called Resident Evil 6: Stuff blows up. It's like a cliche old action movie where everybody dies except main characters. Get new cannon fodder, they all die too. While Chris's storyline is fun I had a lot more fun with Leon because that one does attempt to scare you with the zombies n all that. Was some good atmosphere in parts of that storyline.

Well rumors indicate Capcom would entertain remaking Resident Evil 2 but many fear given the new direction of the franchise. That they will simply keep it tone with the newer games and make it nothing like the original.
AKA fucking the whole thing up.
Though they didn't fuck up the RE1 remake so who knows.

I'm loving Resident Evil 6, I was a little sketchy at first but decided to give it a try. I disliked Resident Evil 5 by the way. Like Chief said, you have three campaigns, later on four of them, to choose from. Leon's is so far my favorite, followed by Jake's and then Chris's Campaign. If your a Resident Evil fan then give it a try and see if you enjoy it.

I loved it at first, I'm upto Jake's last chapter and I'm finding it hard to find the motivation. I still like it but something just doesn't interest me as much. I'm looking forward to play through as Wong though.
It's a step up from 5, and Leon's does feel a bit RE4ish, Chris' is more like a Gears Of War type feel and Jake's is very combat fixated (Which is expecting given his father..) I do like it, but die hard fans probably won't. It isn't anywhere near the best in the franchise, but it's not the worst either.
EDIT: Controls are a tad clunky, but no RE game has had great flowing controls. And i can't see that changing, it seems to have become one of the few staples of the franchise.

I am enjoying the hell out of this game and call me odd but I am loving Jake's campaign when I couldn't stand the demo. Leon's of course is freaking sweet but I like Jakes character and well finding out who his dad is got me more hooked.
