    Kill List~2011

    www.upcominghorrormovies.com/movie/kill-list
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1788391/

    Production year: 2011
    Country: UK
    Cert (UK): 18
    Runtime: 95 mins
    Directors: Ben Wheatley
Cast: David Bowen, Harry Simpson, Michael Smiley, MyAnna Buring, MyAnna Buring, Neil Maskell

I've read a few reviews about this film... ''It was awful'', ''terrible'' .....so I had to see what thee fuck was going on. When I read what the film was about, the plot sounded a little bit like A Serbian Film - man with shady past lured out of retirement by shadowy figure for one last job involving all sorts of nastiness that spirals into chaos and terror. So I watched.

This movie gave me a bunch of feelings. I started to hate it...slow beginning, but then it crawled into my head and I was hooked

Life is hard for an out-of-work hit man. Eight months after something went terribly wrong during a job in Kiev, Jay (Neil Maskell) has no gigs, no health insurance, mounting debts and a wife constantly on his case about money. His suburban life is quickly turning sour and his marriage is on the brink of total collapse.

When his business partner Gal (Michael Smiley) comes over for an intensely awkward dinner, it becomes clear that he’s there to pressure Jay into taking a new assignment. Jay finds himself back in the game, with the promise of a big payoff after three assassinations, but pretty soon things begin to unravel and his paranoia plunges him right into the heart of darkness. As the mission gets stranger, Jay and Gal cross the line from hit men for hire to self-appointed angels of vengeance.

This movie was amazing. The relationship between Jay and Gal was so natural...like we were eavesdropping on their conversations. Very creepy music and so may questions on what I just saw...kept me guessing throughout the film. I watched it twice and loved it even more upon second viewing. I hated it, I loved it, it was creepy, funny, and very British I haven't felt this way about a film in awhile. I hope you guys watch it. If you've seen it, lets talk about it. I want to here what you think, theories, ideas and thought. I feel there is alot to discuss because it was abit confusing.

Oh yes, I almost forgot THE GORE IS AMAZZZZZING!!

If you can get past the yelling and annoying characters at the start, then you're in for a good film. The gore in this is very realistic and makes you squirm!

In hindsight I felt that this added to the storyline.

I thought the movie was alright -- beginning dragged on a bit and I had a hard time understanding what was being said sometimes. Not just because their Brits, but because it seemed like if they weren't yelling at each other, they were whispering, so I had to pump the volume up pretty high on several occasions.

Dug the gritty realism and really liked how things picked up in the last 20-mins. Really ambiguous film, with an equally ambiguous ending that leaves A LOT to audience interpretation. Very dreary, moody film to the end.

Overall, a decent watch, but not something I'd see more than once. It was interesting once much of the character development in the beginning was done with (as I said it dragged a bit) and I enjoyed the brutality in certain scenes.

    6/10

Since I found this interesting and its been compared to Serbian Film in aspects, I figured I might as well give Serb a shot. I used to be really into these types of brutal weird flicks back in the day anyway

I'm glad you liked it. I had a problem watching it too, the yelling and the thick British accent. I thought, I hated this film then it pulled me in. I loved it. The 'librarian' scene was fantastic. How'd you like the camera work? Not once did the camera cut away when Jay started ''working'' I watched it twice. I liked it more the second time around.

Yeah, I've seen enough Brit stuff to understand'em fairly well, with or without the lingo they throw in from time to time, but all the whispering was just too much.

I really like ballsy films that don't shy away from on-screen violence like that, so naturally I enjoyed the brutality of certain scenes. The climax was pretty intense, that whole sequence in the tunnels was crazy, those cult mofoz

Lol @ English speaking Americans not understanding the English accent!
In your defence (and yes, that IS spelt with a c) Neil Maskell who plays Jay does have a very broad cockney accent and tends to mumble his lines so I could see why Yanks might struggle.
The film itself is fucking brilliant, British horror so often shies away from gore, favouring (and yes, there is a u in that word, okay, I'll stop now!) atmosphere and/or comedy elements but Kill List goes right for the jugular.
The score goes off on all sorts of mad tangents like playing ominous tracks while nothing much is happening, (very Lynchian) and the best thing about it is that it takes itself seriously. There's no comic relief, no shitty nu-metal soundtrack, no cheap jump scares etc.
It's a moody and unsettling adult film, definitely not one for the kiddies and it lingers long after viewing.
Without doubt my favourite horror film of last year.
    9.5/10

    I wanna watch it again.

The Brits and aussie add u's to words. I use ''favourite'' alot!

I must admit, the thick British accent is hard for me to understand at times.
