A Better Life (2011)

Just caught this flick from director Chris Weitz (About a Boy, The Golden Compass) and thought it was a pretty good. It revolves around an illegal Mexican immigrant single father, who works his ass off everyday to help make a life for himself and his conflicted son. Started off a bit cliche, but shifted gears less than half way and turned out better than I expected. Good flick that luckily doesn't overdue it with the drama, which was good since I dislike films that go too heavy in the melodrama. Worth a look if you're in the mood for a new drama and an interesting story.

Side note: Lead Demián Bichir (who played the father) was recently nominated for Best Actor for his role in the film in the upcoming Oscars

The last comment: "After unzipping the sub file, both that and the idx files have to be in the same folder as the movie file for the subs to work. If you change the name on the movie file, you also have to change the sub and idx names to exactly the same."

You're not able to extract the subs? Well anyway, you should be able to extract the zip with winrar, if that's the problem. Basically the subs have to be the exact same name as the movie file itself in order it to work.

And I don't use torrents for movies, so I got it from a filehosting service a while back.
