This film was criminally overlooked by most everyone - the Yank majority particularly gave this a wide berth purely because it's a foreign language film and America is notorious for disregarding foreign film. Sorry but it's true.
So the story revolves around Malik, a fresh faced inmate in a prison populated with violent lags.
It's a breathtaking piece of work and the only reason I'm making a thread about this is that EVERYBODY I've ever spoke to in real life is oblivious to this film, also I've not heard it mentioned on any forum but take my (admittedly drunken) word for it - this film fucking rules.
I rarely give a film 10/10 but this one has earned its stripes.
Get it watched people.
You won't regret it.

Fuck me, this board is dead as a doornail tonight - I'll chalk it up to Monday night blues but what-the-fuck-ever.
I can't stress enough how bloody brilliant this film is - it's the story of a young con who rises up to become an overlord. It's long - around 150 minutes but the time just flies by. Malik has an amazing presence and the prophet title becomes clear as the film makes steam.
I'm turning in now but my advice is this:
Watch the fucking film

I didn't start this thred for vanity's sake - rather to inform the UHM massive of a film that will stick in your collective craw for months afterwards.
If every UHM user who reads this does not watch the film then I'm gonna go all Alligator man from Panic Button & crash a jet into the UHM headquarters (FrighT's house).

This was quite good. I really enjoyed it.
I liked watching him slowly rising to the top ranks in the prisoner population.
