The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.

I'm a fan of the series and of actor Jeremy Renner, so I'll be checking this

I'm surprised at how good this looks. I liked the Bourne trilogy so I will be there for this. Jeremy Renner is fast becoming one of my favourite actors.

The Bourne series is some of the best bad-assness ever put on film. Jeremy Renner is a rising star and could totally bring a great new trilogy to this series along with Gilroy.

don't really get why they're doing the same thing with a new character BUT I like Renner and Norton and all the Bourne flicks have been bad ass so fuck it I'll give it a shot. It'd be nice to see Renners character meet up with Bourne in the future.

Renner is a very good actor, and like others I really enjoy the Bourne movies so I will give this a watch whether it be DVD or in the theaters

Just got back from it. Although you get a "Been there done that" feel to the movie and its not a necesary sequal unlike the previous bourne films. Its still a fun action packed movie that definetely feels like a bourne flick, and they do tie it in to the previous movies. And its nice to see Renner get a leading role like this. So I don't regret watching it.

Agreed. So much of this is fairly predictable but what makes it worthwhile is how it just doesn't seem to let up. Renner is awesome, as always too. You believe him as a badass but at the same time he's able to portray so much humanity and, dare I say it, vulnerability. Damon does a good job in the first three but somehow I just give a shit a little more how Renner's character makes out.

I think this like the others will nothing like the book and seeing as the author was dead and the books written in his name by Eric Van Lustbader this just isn't a bourne movie. Under any other name this would probably be a good movie as it is its a pretty poor add on to the franchise

The previous bourne movies were good but should have been called something else as they were not the Jason Bourne who is totally badass in the first 3 books.

yeah he's definetly good at playing a normal everyday acting guy with normal problems then turning around and kicking someones ass. Its hard to pull both those things off. I think a big part of it is his voice. He just sounds "normal" as odd as that may seem to say. He can manage to note ooze badass when he doesn't have to.

Really dug the flick. Didn't seem to have as much action as the previous films, but it offered an interesting story and Renner did an excellent job as a convincing agent. I liked how they referenced various people and events from the previous flick, so it feels like just another addition to the overall story. It also made the progression from Damon to Renner more convincing and easier to take in. I'm really hoping the next film has the two dudes working together to take down the agency once and for all

Overall, good movie and a good sequel. 7/10

Well, at first I was confused when adverts popped up for this film long ago and never bothered to read into the story but now it makes sense. I was under the impression that Robert only wrote three Bourne novels during his lifetime but forgot folks wrote sequels after he passed away. Pretty awesome, might just read all of them before seeing the films. Except for this one, I'm watching it tonight.

I thought this was very mediocre. It started off strongly but just decended into a run of the mill chase film with little in the way of twists and turns - very few surprises. However, I thought it was a good jumping off point to make something really worthwhile out of with future sequels. I really enjoyed Renner as always.

There's definitely some potential there for some badass future sequels, especially with what's revealed towards the end of this one
