I love zombie films. Obviously it's my favorite genre. ;-) I'll take 'em walking, running, dragging themselves, rolling in a wheelchair, or being pushed in a baby carriage.

I like 'em. Granted there are a TON of them out there. (hell, I was even in one once) It seems to be a genre that will live (no pun intended) forever. I have always liked post-apocalyptic type films anyway whether it involve zombies, usually does, or anything of the sort. Naturally I'd love to make that kind of film one day. I actually have a script that's 45 pages in, but I stopped writing on it about 2 years ago when I realized it would take about 500K to do it right, and raising money is no easy task.

First time my knife touched skin
And the red blood started flowing so quick I just couldn't quit
Kept stabbing until everything that I seen was red
The pillow, the blankets, the walls, and even the bed
One color dominating everything like contemporary art
Am I the killer or artist with bloody heart?
Then I curled into a ball in the corner of the room
Feeling like a creep in the light of the moon

Funny you mention that, the zombie/action script I stopped writing on about 2 years ago was titled "Devil of the Dead'. I stopped because I soon realized that it would cost about 500K to do it right. We're talking crashing vehicles, dangerous stunts, multiple locations, a few name actors, practical effects, more practical effects, gun play, etc.

The title would be a part of the dialogue by a woman who was a survivor and had lost her mind in the second act.

I enjoy a good zombie movie - whether they are fast or slow - as long as the film is done properly. Of course, when I think of the "fast" zombies, I'm thinking of the "infected" in 28 Days Later or something like that - in which case, whether the infected are zombies at all is up for debate. I prefer the classic, slow-moving corpses though. There is something creepier about them - just a giant mass of zombies slowly encircling the victim.
I do agree that the subgenre has been done to death in recent years and it has become overly mainstream. It seems like everyone loves zombies right now, and frankly it's a little irritating. I've dated guys who've never even watched a zombie flick that were prepping for the zombie apocalypse ... I mean, really ... that's ridiculous.
