Will Smith gave a brilliant performance in the original, however I'm struggling to see how there can be a sequel with him in it, he blew himself up, so it'll be interesting to see how they get out of that one.

I completely disagree on that.
I think the role of Neville was a complete and utter miscast with the use of Smith.

I've had an ongoing debate with others in the past about the casting of Smith in this movie.
People have often tried to make their point that he did a "good job" or "he's capable" of the role. So what.

Just because an actor is capable of a performance does not necessarily mean that they are right for the role.
This casting is a glaring example. No dispespect to Smith intended. I think he's more than adequate in alot of his roles -
and I think he should stick to those he's known for -----> quasi action/comedies and buddy flicks.


The movie had alot of potential never the less, but still fell short. It was finished off in my opinion by the CGI.
The book is phenomenal. Matheson and King have very similar writing styles - so if you like one author then you may want to try the other.

If you have never read the book then you might wanna give it a shot. Not a feel good book of the year, but if anybody was looking for that kind then they probably wouldn't be on a horror site.

Agree completely.

Everything is wrong about I Am Legend from casting Smith to the storyline. The adaptation they came up with had almost nothing to do with the book. The GCI was the final blow. Just an awful film IMO.

They made a book about it? Was it for the age group of 6 - 10 year olds? The first movie was fine, a little dry for my taste. Still, a second movie, I will hold off till it is on cable.
