The Evil Dead Remake

Finally saw this, pretty darn good horror film in it's own right, looking forward to a sequel.

My only real nitpicks were:

You can't fire a nailgun like that without bypassing the safety, they actually took the care to address this in I think it was Tucker & Dale vs. Evil where he held the safety mechanism back with one hand while he fired away with the other.

And then how Mia mysteriously had no burn injuries on her face any longer once she broke the possession and was revived.

Really enjoyed the movie overall, 8/10 for me.

The same could be said about her tongue after it cutting it in half. I guess she was fully healed once she went back to normal

This dropped almost all the way out of the top 5 after 1 week. I had a feeling this would be a one big or decent weekend then it would quickly disappear. It will probably be on Blu by July.

Wow, that's pretty good, once the international starts to kick in I'm sure it will significantly increase. I'm looking forward to more Evil Deads

I finally got to see this today, and I must say I was so happy to see that it was such a fantastic re-telling of Evil Dead. It was uncomfortable, brutal and just so beautifully cruel. I could sing its praises all day.

Yes, it has hang-ups and loopholes and it changes the story. It was never meant to be a complete remake of the original, but I think it pays respects in all the right places to the original. After reading an interview with the director, I look forward to seeing what else he hands to us ^_^

It is what it is. At first I was wondering what they hell they were doing and one of the first scenes with that terrible CGI. But there was plenty of violence and gore and I quickly got over it. Still it doesn't comes close to The Evil Dead, but we all knew it wouldn't. I think this film was over hyped like most movies, but I did enjoy it.

The marketing department deserves a lot of credit for the success of this movie. Not in advertisement but picking the perfect week to release it. It had absolutely NO competition. I'm not saying it wouldn't have done well otherwise but I am saying it would not have done as well. The fact it dropped off so far after one week with still VERY weak competition releasing speaks volumes to that.

i loved this movie, great characters, my favorite was Mia, i loved the gore and the effects were awesome, definitely a great remake, 9/10

Saw it today...it was okay. I really wanted to like it but the beginning was weak and the demons looked a bit stupid but luckily got much better. I liked some of the plot points like why they went/stayed, but I don't know if i'd re-watch it.

finally saw this yesterday and really enjoyed it. i had heard so many mixed reviews so was plesantly surprised by it. I liked the story, i felt the lead girl was great (the rest, meh) the gore was suitably sick. asside from a dodgy script at times it was an enjoyable watch- 7/10
