Nightbreed Director's cut!

I just wrote about this on my site http://monkeypantz.net/?p=1587, but the Three Hour Director's Cut of Nightbreed is going to be premiered at the http://www.themadmonsterparty.com/ this year!

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it there, but I certainly do hope this version of the film is released to the public sometime soon!

I hope I'm wrong, but I feel it will be much like My Bloody Valentine, where it took a remake coming out, to get the director's cut finally released on dvd.

well the MBV remake was awesome and the director's cut was awesome so if that's the example then i'd say bring on the remake

Not at all, it was gorey, lots of nudity, and the 3D was a riot in the theater. Also, Tom Atkins.

So yeah it was awesome. Only real problem I had with it was the ending (which I made a better one in my head).

I thought the MBV remake was alright. It could have been a lot worse too, just look at Prom Night or Black Christmas (X-Mas, whatever they were thinking). I really hope that Nightbreed doesn't get a remake. I think the movie is great the way it is, even the effects. So there really wouldn't be any point to it other than for some studio to make some money.

Well I can see them trying to make a remake... But how can you remake such a classic... I honestly dont think it HAD enough of a fan base to remake it which Im happy about... To remake this movie would hurt me deep deep inside

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only fan. It seems I can mention this movie anywhere and I all I get are blank stares! Go figure this gang would recognize a good film.

I agree. I'd hate to see a remake. I would like to see the bits and pieces that were removed though. And hearing Lylesberg with the original Doug B. voice would be fantastic!

I saw Nightbreed when it hit the theaters. I remember liking it ok for what it was. Never felt like I wasted my money.

Not so much the fan base of Nightbreed itself, but the fans of Clive Barker as a whole would probably spark enough interest to attempt a remake of this classic. Fantastic writer that can really get the gore across on the written page.
As for me just give me the classic as a director's cut , and I'll be satisfied. A remake would all depend on who was directing and any trailers that got released to get my interest

Saw that the other day, I'll believe it when I see it. So far none of his projects right now seem to be going anywhere.

I Love Nightbreed. Loved the original book(Cabal) and being a fan of Barker, would love to see the directors cut. 3 hours seems a little excessive, so unless they are covering every aspect of the book, I'll be interested. Not sure I wanna see another remake to destroy the legacy though. Just my opinion.

I first saw Nightbreed on tv and thought it was a fantastic film, the story, characters, ESPECIALLY the monsters and effects, I loved the villain who wanted to try and kill the Nightbreed that mask he wore reminded me of Scarecrow from the Nolan Batman movies.

I don't think a remake is in order for this kind of film it has a great feel and look to it, if there is a director's cut....GIMME THE FUCKIN' DIRECTOR'S CUT, GODDAMN IT!!!

Three hours is more than fine in my book if it is going to fill out the story and cover any bases needed to be covered.

big fan of the original book. i remember when the movie was originally released how much hype surrounded it. i found the movie somewhat lacking. there was just too much to put in the movie. a television series might work...

I never really liked this movie. If it wasn't for Cronenberg's "Dr. Decker" character the movie would have been a complete waste for me. Good practical special effects aside this movie just didn't do it for me. I can definitely do without 3 hours of it.
