Anyone seen this? A friend of mine recommended it to me, and I gotta say it blew me away.
It's directed by and starring Dennis Hopper. I knew he had directed a few titles, including Easy Rider, but I had no idea he was this talented.
It focuses on a young girl (Linda Manz, probably best known for being the mom of the F'd up looking kid in Gummo) who is obsessed with Elvis Presley and Sid Vicious, and has a pretty messed up life. Her dad (Hopper) is just getting out of prison and he mom's pretty much worthless... I don't want to give anything away, but I'll say anyone who is interested in late 70s/early 80s punk and rock should see this. It does an incredible job explaining and examining the punk scene, not to mention the soundtrack is largely using Neil Young and Crazy Horse's live album Rust Never Sleeps. Several scenes, including the ending, are awesome, shocking, violent... this film pretty much has it all!
