Same here. It's a movie made to not be taken seriously and to have fun with the theme. With some of the shitty slashers (I'm lookin' at you Smiley ) that have come out recently this looks a bit refreshing.

The characters weren't bad but they weren't anything spectacular either, Malcom McDowells character was pretty amusing though.

Actually it turned out to be a pretty good film. As soon as the first two really stupid looking kills were over, it got pretty brutal. It had these vivid colors and lighting throughout the movie, that looked really awesome.

why didnt u like it maybe cause it was late in the morning but i thought it was kinda comical that girl was a beotch slappin her mothers heart pills outta her hand and cursing at her like that,then got all smartass with the santa calling him the salvation army and do u got something for me, and well he had something for her alright lol,, if u didnt like it cause it was a kid i respect that i normally dont either but man i didnt like that kid lol, the electro x mas light chair i didnt care for i didnt really even pay it ne attention lol, loved the tree shreddar scene.

I can understand your complaints there although personally I didn't mind any of the kills in the movie. They do get better and better as the movie goes on which I think is better than starting strong and getting steadily worse.

All in all, fun horror movie to watch in December and above average.

I enjoyed the flick... Thought it was fun. Don't go into it expecting some cerebral cinematic event.. but if you go into it for a fun holiday-based slasher, you'll get what you're expecting.

Looking forward to it; got it at the top of my Netflix queue. The first movie is a sleazy classic and definitely fun to watch this time of year.

I didn't mind Silent Night, although it wasn't the home run I was hoping for. There's nothing in the way of plot or character development, just a series of gory kills, but that's not a bad thing. Jamie King and Malcolm McDowell do an OK job, and the use of colors, especially in the jail scenes were striking. If you want a run of the mill slasher then it's an entertaining flick.

I don't get why so many people are calling this 'fun', because it really bored me. It's about a female cop chasing a killer who is not interesting in the slightest because I've seen the character arc done one thousand times.. and the killer is a generic masked slasher villain who only says two words throughout the entire movie (remember Billy from the original?.. he was so much better). They throw in a bratty girl, a sleazy priest and an alcoholic santa which are all just poorly acted obvious victim fodder. The visuals are of the standard colour-filtered stuff you get from Platinum Dunes. The only good thing is you get some gory kills which aren't anything you haven't seen in many other movies. Yeah, I'd say this is a very poor slasher film, and as a remake it doesn't even come close to the original (of which they give a few nods but nothing interesting or worthwhile). It is nowhere near as fun as Silent Night Deadly Night Parts 1 & 2.. people will not be quoting this movie for decades to come, it will fester with all of the other forgotten horror remakes of the early 21st century.

lol Do I detect sarcasm? I can only rate it honestly as a fan of both slasher movies and the original SNDN. I'm not trying to troll, I'm just stating my opinion of the movie. If you like, that's cool, and I have nothing against you. But it was not my 'cup of tea' which I explained why in my review. And yes, I do realise there are far worse slasher films than this one.

I thought the movie was MEH. Started off a little weak, but got better over time. Some good gore/deaths towards the end, but aside from that and the badass killer santa, it was just an okay flick. Will have a more detailed review posted soon.
