Indie "end of the world" movie

Looking for a movie title. I think my googling skills are getting stale.
I saw this a few years ago on IFC or Sundance - can't remember which, but I think it was on one of those.

I remember the the plot centered on maybe an up coming solar flare event or maybe a supernova, and society was using
a global countdown clock with maybe 2 or 3 days until the critical mass event was to occur.

The story focuses on a few different groups of people - *interconnected mybe?* - and how they live out those final few days.
I remember the final shot of the film where a guy and chic are on a rooftop and have guns pointed at each others head as the clock continues to tick down.

    Anyone know the title?
    ......anyone... anyone... class... anyone....

Sounds an awful lot like the premise to Abel Ferrarra's 4:44 which hasn't come out yet, I don't think. Staying "indie" there's also Melancholia, which came out not too long ago, though I think that was a comet or something. The female lead in that one disgusts me so I haven't bothered to see it yet.

LOL, there's always Solar Crisis from the early '90s.

Yea that's one of the ones I came across when googling it. I usually google stuff pretty good but I'm coming up with nothing.

It had to be within the last 10 yrs. since I seen it. Also the final scene with the guy and chic on the roof counting down together -
the chic I'm almost pretty sure was asian, and she wasn't able to make it to her destination for the countdown and ended up spending it with that dude.

Going older, there's also the super duper shitty "Last Night" from 1998, but the event causing the apocalypse is never revealed.

Thanks Thorn. Looked at the links. That's the flick.

It's older than I had thought, but I had the part of the sun semi-right, and the part about the oriental woman as the one on the roof.
I never would have got the title of it though.

    Thanks for the help.
