The original Creature was possibly my favorite Universal monster movie. That being said I have no hope for the remake, I dont think it can be done in this time with any grace or suspense that the original had.

Agreed. I love the original and it's easily my favorite Universal Monster. With that being said, the remake is going to be utter shit. There is no way it would take itself seriously

On again off again. I'm not going to believe its happening until they start really getting things together for it. Apparently the Wolf-Man remake was supposedly marking the return of the Universal Horror Classic's hence the original Universal Logo at the beginning. But seeing how it didn't perform to expectations my guess is they are putting that idea on the back burner, well last I read they are Rebooting the Wolf-Man (originally they planned sequels) and the title is completely different. So my guess is it's more of a Werewolf movie, than a 'Wolf-Man' movie.

I thought the Wolf remake was pretty good actually, it got a bit silly at the end with the Werewolf WWE but otherwise I enjoyed it, and I'm a big fan of the original. I'd like to see another Creature film made, but as said, I'm not sure how 'serious' it would take itself/the audience. I think they'd have to re-do the creature design a bit as I can't see people my age today liking the look of it. The best thing about these remakes, is that the films are widely known/respected so you'd hope they do take care with it and get a good cast. Wolf-Man had a great cast as is.

I'm not completely against the idea, but as long as they go about it the right way it could be great. Going to try stay positive.

It also went direct to dvd. Universal doesn't know how to make a decent horror movie anymore, and they don't really care about the legacy too much.

im sure it sucked. They CG werewolves to much these days. Makes them cartoony and not scary. Thats why CG is so bad with horror. Its one thing to CG buildings, machinery and background stuff. Its when you start CGing something thats supposed to be a live character that you really start fucking things up. Thats why I dont see the universal monsters making a come back anytime soon.

I was pleasantly surprised at how practical they did Wolfman. I was also shocked when I heard they were doing the original design, I thought for sure we'd have some gay ass Van Helsing style Werewolf. I liked it.
