    Best Movie In a Series

What's your one favorite movie in any Horror series, of the following and others?

    Friday The 13th

    A Nightmare On Elm Street

    Halloween

    Saw

    Scream

    Phantasm

    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

    Child's Play

    Hellraiser

    Puppet Master

    Final Destination

    Alien

    Predator

    Romero's Living Dead

    My favorites in each:

Friday The 13th - Jason Lives

A Nightmare On Elm Street - New Nightmare

    Halloween - 1978 Original

    Saw - Saw II

    Scream - Original

    Phantasm - Phantasm II

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - 2003 Remake (I know. Saw what you will )

    Child's Play - Original

    Hellraiser - Original

Puppet Master - Puppet Master 4

    Final Destination - Original

    Alien - Aliens

Predator - Predator 2 (unpopular, I know. Love the original too, though)

Romero's Living Dead - Day Of The Dead '85

Add more too if you'd like.

Those are some good ones for additions. My picks:

    Jaws - Original
Maniac Cop - Maniac Cop 3
Critters - Can't remember them enough to fairly pick. Probably either 1 or 2.

I like The Hitchhiker in Creepshow 2 the most.

I also prefer The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake over the original as well.

I saw the 3D version at the movies, too. But if i remember correctly, it wasn't even authentic 3D. It was like watching the movie through a view-master (if anyone remembers what those are). I finally saw a movie in authentic 3D when I saw Jaws 3D a year later. A terrible movie, but at least the 3D was good.

Nightmare on Elm Street - 4. Not the scariest one, but it had a really polished visual style. Good songs on the soundtrack, too.

Friday the 13th - none of them. Unless you can count Jason Vs. Freddy (or is it Freddy Vs. Jason? I keep forgetting).

    Child's Play - 1

Halloween - pt. 6, The Curse of Michael Myers. Just kidding. Pt. 1, of course.

Mmmm, no it was the same 3D as Jaws-3D, which was part of the same short-lived resurgence of polarized 3D projection that happened in the early-mid 1980s. These two, along with Amityville-3D and then the really, really bad stuff like Metalstorm, Spacehunter and Treasure of the Four Crowns and Parasite (don't remember how good or bad that one was) came out pretty close to each other. There were all kinds of 3D movies playing on television too, where you could get glasses at your local 7-11 or whatever.

They didn't have the technology back then to do 3D conversion to films.

There's a lot of cross-over in crew and technique between these films. 35mm 3D is a rather bulky affair, usually involving two large lens mounts joined by a beam splitter. There weren't that many people on the entire planet that were proficient in the process. Even on up into the 1990s, we had some of the same 3D crew from back then, from Jaws-3D, working on T23D:Battle Across Time.

I forget the details now if each eye shares half of a full 35mm frame (2-perf, like Cameron shot before digital) or if they ran the camera at double speed and the frames alternated between each eye's image. Maybe both options were used, depending on if it was anamorphic 35mm or spherical (flat).

3D is a lot easier to shoot now, at least from a camera package standpoint, if you're digital.
