Why is the brunette chick at the end of the trailer having that white face/red eyeliner like Die Antwoords Yolandi? Is there a signifance to it? Some tribal thing?

My intrest is piqued with this flick from the drama surrounding the distribution of It. You would think that Eli's triumphant return to directing, especially a Horror Flick. That distributors would be lined up around the block to release this. What with his good buddies Tarantino an that douche R.Rodriguez In his back pocket
He must've pissed off the wrong people. Im not the biggest fan of this guy. But I do love the Original Cabin Fever, and I also like Cannibal Holocaust soo we'll see how this goes.

I mean... it pretty much has to be right?
The original title of CH2 was Green Inferno... The story of a group of people who go to find someone in the Amazon and encounter face painted cannibal natives... if you watch the trailer for the original, you can find scenes that are in the remakes trailer.
....maybe "remake" is the wrong term, maybe its a "re-imagining". I dont think CH2 was meant to be CH2, they just cashed in on that name... Maybe Eli felt it was a solid premise and decided to contribute to the CH movies? I dunno, im just guessing at this point. But it seems very unlikely this is not a remake of this movie...errr... rewhatever.

I think there was something fishy with the distribution. Maybe they intentionally delayed it to create some kind of controversy like the original CH movies.
I say that because distributors dont give a shit about the quality of a movie. They simply care about how many units they can sell, and Eli Roth is a big name in horror who can put asses in seats. I find it very hard to believe he would have a hard time finding a distributor.

From what I understand this isn't a sequel or remake of the CH films, but simply a nod to them

Did you watch the CH2... AKA, Green Inferno (first title) trailer?
Its more than a "nod", you have the coffee/cafe/bar scene discussing going to the Amazon. The skeleton discovery looks nearly exact. There's just no way this is simply a "nod", its gotta be a rewrite.
Im doing some more investigating on the subject, i just cant believe this is simply a "nod" or coincidence that this movie has the same premise to a movie of the same name.

This is what I found on both IMDB and wikipedia:
According to director Eli Roth, "The Green Inferno" is conceived as a homage to "Cannibal Holocaust".
Roth has said in an interview in February 2013 that he wanted the film to look like a Werner Herzog or Terrence Malick film. He has also said that he was inspired by such Italian cannibal films as Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox.

Yah... Kind of like how The Evil Dead remake is paying homage to the Evil Dead?
Cannibal Ferox btw, i know ive seen it but i dont remember it at all.... But the synopsis sounds like a direct sequel to The Green Inferno (original). But i think Ferox was made like a decade before.
Green - "Four friends head into the jungle to locate a lost professor but instead face off against treasure hunters who are torturing and killing natives."
Ferox - "Three friends out to disprove cannibalism meet two men on the run who tortured and enslaved a cannibal tribe to find emeralds, and now the tribe is out for revenge."

I wouldn't be surprised if Roth just doesn't want to admit it's a remake because he knows if he did it would probably turn a lot of people away from it

Well the term Green Inferno is used a lot for the jungle so to hear that is actually quite common. The CH movies are far better than this trash.
