Caught this post-apoc survival thriller earlier and found it surprisingly good. I really didn't know what to expect from it, but I dug the premise and liked the horror-ish turn it took around the mid-mark.
I'd like to add that the film's title means "Bright" in GermanThe flick is set in the not-too-distant future where temperatures on the earth have risen to an all time high. So much, in fact, that if you're exposed by too much of the sun that you'll be burned, so when traveling during the day people are covered up. The heat has pretty much caused livestock and a lot of plant life to die off, leaving people to resort to drastic means to survive. The story basically revolves around a group of survivors and their struggles to find a safe haven.
Anyway, like I said, the movie takes a horror-ish turn half way, which I liked, but I would've preferred seeing these people attempt to survive the harsh climate more, as I found that more interesting than what ended up happening. Regardless, I liked it and found the first half refreshing, while the 2nd veers more towards familiar territory, it offers some fairly tense moments. Worth a look if you're into post-apoc survival flicks.
