On a related note, what's everyone's favorite trap in the series? Mine is probably the Needle Pit in the second one, nasty as all Hell.

I used to be the biggest SAW fan... for me it was kind of a gateway horror film, but I guess I kind of grew out of it. It also didn't help that the last one just felt like they were deliberately making the shittiest movie possible.

I didn't think the seventh one was that bad but it was definitely underwhelming for something that was supposed to be the series' grand finale. I do think it's made a little better when watched together with the sixth one, though.

I read on Bloody Disgusting earlier that Lion's Gate is planning to reboot the series. Not a huge surprise they had plans to make another.

Lionsgate wants to keep it going with either a sequel or possible reboot. Nothing is official, just a buncha talk right now.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if it actually leads to another movie being made in another year or two from now.

I also read about this. I'm not quite understanding all the negativity towards a remake/reboot/another sequel. The best way to do a remake is to take a shitty movie and turn it into a good one. Either that, or remake a movie that hasn't reached its full potential. SAW fits that criteria; all the babble about this "WTF fuck off Hollywood SAW sucks lol" just proves my first philosophy that horror fans are closed-minded assholes when it comes to SAW, and also when it comes to remakes.

A part of me is kinda open to seeing how they might re-do the series, as the original series definitely stretched thinner near the end.

Welshy's Saw Retrospective

Thought I'd share that with Saw fans here. Welshy of That Guy With The Glasses is doing a lengthly retrospective on the series, he's up to the third one so far and will cover the rest.

On a related note about the series, anyone ever played the two Saw video games? I only played the first one and it was pretty cool although the combat system was annoying as were some of the puzzles. It ties into the movies pretty well.

I, III, VI, II, VII, V, IV... I'd rank them in that order, although I do enjoy all of them and not ashamed to admit it.
