Just took my son to see this today.. We both enjoyed it and it definitely gave some depth as to why Maleficent cursed Aurora in the first place.. suffice to say, she had a pretty damn good reason to be that pissed, if you ask me.I'm not a fan of Angelina Jolie at all.. HOWEVER.. she fucking NAILED the part of Maleficent.. it was more than just the makeup that made her Maleficent.. she had the mannerisms, the attitude, all of it too a tee. There are some slight problems in the movie but they involve spoilers and I don't feel like fucking with posting that shit. All in all, I thought it was a fun flick.

I enjoyed it as well. Jolie was superb! The special effects were a mixed bag but when they were on they were ON. The story was really good and did explain what we have always known of Maleficent. Not my cup of tea but I did enjoy it and my daughter loved it. The movie is a bit uneven as it doesn't know what it wants to be. It's very dark in places but screams Disney in others. It's a quick ride as well. One of the only Summer Blockbusters that I can remember in recent memory that clocks in right at an hour and a half.
The tranquility of night hides many malevolent things taking place under a stunning, mysterious sky pocked with precious gems of light. -GP

saw this today and loved it also. Jolie was excellent. really great retelling of the stoy.
