Min-sik Choi (Old Boy, I Saw the Devil) stars in this latest South Korean gangster drama that's set in the mid-to-late 80's and revolves around a family man who hustles and talks his way outta every situation and eventually makes his way up the ladder of a local organized crime outfit. Great film thanks to the talented Min-sik Choi and rest of the supporting cast. Unlike most gangster dramas, this film doesn't focus so much on the violence aspect as it does the political and hustling part, due to the lead character being more of a thinker than a brawler. That's not to say that the film isn't violent or bloody, because it is when the scene calls for it.
Overall, I'd say it's one of the better and more unique recent gangster flicks I've been privileged to watch and would highly recommend it to others into the same theme. 8/10
