Had to mention it from my own personal experiences. I have been accused of being bias once because of something I said prior to a hand out. Totally not the case. I always watch what I say on my page now. I shouldn't but I do because I don't want to go down that road again.

I got'cha and I've actually been accused of being biased before, recently with V/H/S, where some peeps commented how since BD was involved with it that I gave it a semi-negative review But over the years I've built a lot of trust from peeps that read my reviews since they can always expect me to be honest, and I'd never change that over $$. I think that's partially why I also lose contact with peeps in the biz, because we're all friends up until I give an honest critique of their work and then I suddenly barely ever hear from them again

Just saw Sinister, it does take a while to get rolling as most movies tend to do. Once it got going the tension is pretty good and maintained throughout. However, where I expected it to be disturbing it was merely unsettling. I saw this alone at the latest showing and was really expecting to be scared but aside from a couple scenes with typical jump scares it really didn't have a lasting impact on me and for that I can't help but be a little disappointed.

It was a very solid horror film and I concur with the 7/10 ratings noted previously but I think it could have done a bit more to live up to the name 'Sinister'. Still, I appreciate the originality.

It's just too bad that basically

    Spoiler...
every bit that you see of Bagoul is shown in the trailers and commericals

The spoilers listed here did not bother me in the least. In fact I even think the film did good in the fact not concentrating on it. The story itself is where this movie shines. The slow burn and the fact Derrickson kept it under control and pulled the reigns back for the duration is where the film excels and puts it head and shoulders above everything recently released.

Sinister was made to tell a story and get in your head and to make you use your head. Obviously not for everyone but that is why I simply love this movie. I hardly ever see a movie twice out in the theater but I did with this (although one was a screening).

It's funny it was mentioned here because someone asked me for advice as to whether or not to see it in the theater and asked straight up if all the "good" parts were shown in the trailer. My response was "to be honest...mostly yes.". I went on to say don't let that stop you from seeing what is easily one of the best, well put-together horror films in years.

There is tons of story and imagery in between those "good" parts that makes Sinister top-notch.

Just seen it. I liked it and think it was a better made movie then Insidious, but I think Insidious was scarier. 7/10

Just saw it -- a bit overhyped, in my opinion. It's a good movie, and I really dug the story, but I found a majority of the scares rather mediocre. Lots of great dark scenes and creepy atmosphere though. I was just a little disappointed with the scares, because it seemed to rely mainly on standard jump ones. I was sadly able to predict each time a scare was going to occur But like I said, it's still a good flick and one of the better ones to hit theaters. Will have a more detailed review posted shortly.

See for me I saw it over a month ago for the first time so it couldn't have been overhyped. I just happened to really have enjoyed it. The jump scares didn't bother me that they were predictable because the overall tone of the film from beginning to end was so intense. Jump scares in any movie are predictable to someone who has seen as much horror as we have. So in movies such as this I look for other aspects to judge it. I don't give grades to movies but I would give Sinister a very solid 8/10.
