Just got back from checking this out and it was great!

The movie far surpasses the original in every possible way and we now have a great new horror icon on our hands. It has gore, shock value (albeit some of it comes off corny), laughs, and most shocking of all...a really great script!

Some points of the story are introduced but never fully followed up on but that is a minor drawback to what we are given. You don't have to have seen The Collector to be "up to speed" for this film, however it is a good movie on its own and should be seen regardless.

I didn't know the set up for this movie before seeing it and I'm not sure if anyone really does without researching and reading about it so I won't delve into that here.

The Collection is one hell of a ride being released at the wrong time of year. Unfortunately I think if you are going to want to see this in the theater (and I think any horror fan should) you may want to go opening weekend since this could drop off the radar fairly quick.

Wow, now I am even more excited to see this! I have been expecting this to be just entertainment, but that just gets me so excited! I certainly wasn't expecting a great script

I'm confident this will be everything I'm expecting of it; so excited to see it this weekend.

Just posted my review for this. I loved it; I think fans of the original will enjoy it but the people who like to nitpick and point out irrelevant plot holes will still have a reason to hate it.

I saw it today. There was a whopping 3 people in the theater, including myself. I loved the movie, but I don't think it's going to do too well at the box office. I hope this doesn't affect them making a 3rd. I know the 1st wasn't that big of movie either. So who knows.

It looks like its gonna have an even smaller opening weekend number than the first one, which worries me about the The Collected(aka The Collector Part 3). I've been seeing the ads all over YouTube, but its supposed to make a measly $2.4mil this weekend.
At the same time, though, I think they should quit while they're ahead.
