Two teasers have been released for the new Superman movie. Both teasers are identical except for the voice over. The flick opens June 14th 2013.

Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. I like the two dads in the teasers. When both of them were Robin Hood, I guess you have to have both of them give Kal-El inspiring speeches. The Comic Con footage is more impressive.

That teaser looks like a mix between Deadliest Catch and Tree of Life... Not a fan of Snyder, at all, so my expectations for this are low.

I'm way off from giving my final judgement and I know I'll watch the movie but theres things about this that pissed me off. I know the people involved were thinking "hey lets give people something they arent expecting for this trailer". Comic book fans aren't looking for something they aren't expecting when it comes to Superman. They are looking for what they've been deprived of in a Superman movie. And thats a good Superman movie! I know some people are gonna go on about how they like the Christopher Reeve stuff but I don't. Give me the comic book on screen.

Have Superman fight Darkseid. An all out brawl were our "boy scout" gets angry. Noone ever shows him angry on screen. They are obsessed with the "boy scout" aspect of him. Why not put Lex Luthor in his big green Kryptonite suit and have them fight. Why not have Braniac show up and take over most of everything. Doomsday beat the shit out of him or Metallo go on a killing spree. But we won't get that. Because Hollywood doesn't know how to make a Superman movie. We're going to get another emotional emo boy scout with super powers. Not that there isn't a lot of emotion involved with the character, there is. I just don't want it to bog down the whole damn movie. And I agree with the above post. We don't need ANOTHER freaking origin story. Everyone and their grandmother knows the origin of Superman.

I did like the trailer. Pumped me up for the actual movie. Was never too huge into Superman though, so we'll see how it goes. I think I am more pumped up for the fact that this is done by Nolan and Snyder. I am a huge fan boy of Snyder so I am ashamed to admit that I will probably like it no matter what the final product is.

Definitely need him fighting someone as powerful as he his. The Superman in the DC cartoons are cooler than the movies... Maybe the origin aspect will just be a quickie? And then we can have some meat to the film... maybe?

I don't need to see in the future to know this will be a huge HUGE let down. Not really a let down for me as it will be the same as every other Superman movie and pretty damned lame.

I'm looking forward to this one for the new breath Superman needs in the movies. I think that's Superman's biggest problem. His movies are too old to compare favorably today and the latest was lame. We're definitely getting Superman fighting another opponent here and I bet it won't be retarded like this:



So something we can count on is a lot of action (punching). Of course, with Snyder in the chair, I'm worried about countless moments of ramping during these scenes, giving this movie too much of his own style. I don't know this Henry Cavill, I don't know what he's done, I don't know what he's good at. But if he and Snyder fail to capture what makes Superman great, then they will disappoint me. We've got Michael Shannon as Zod and Russell Crowe as Jor-El, with Amy Adams and Larry Fishburne, so this movie has acting credibility.

This movie has to be good. Warner Brothers needs it, Superman himself and his fans deserve it.

Hopefully this movie will do to Superman what Batman Begins and The Amazing Spider-Man did for those respective franchises. People need to stop bitching about something not being as faithful to the comics as it should be. The Dark Knight Trilogy strayed about as far away from the Batman comics as possible while still being able to call it Batman, and it is not only the absolute best live action take on Batman yet, but easily one of the best movie trilogies in general of all time. Plus the chances of a "reboot" or different Batman series topping Nolan's is slim to none. Bottom line is super hero movies aren't just made for comic book purists, Hollywood has to be able to appeal to movie goers as a whole, and if a movie were to stick strictly to the comics there would be a lot of empty seats in the theaters once the comic book folks made their way through during opening weekend, and looking at the movie going population as a whole, the comic book purists are a small percentage. Nolan was able to take Batman and not only market it to non comic fans, but make it just a good movie overall. The only thing I hope for in this movie is that they stop being pussies and actually say Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Anyone who doesn't like that can suck a cock because thats the basis Superman was created on, thats what he's stood for in all the decades he's been around, and thats what he still stands for today. Taking that out would be like if in The Avengers it was Captain World, or Captain Justice, fuck that. He's an American superhero and should be represented as such.

Superman can work on screen. Richard Donner did a good job and Bryan Singer tried to ape that shit so hard he essentially made the most expensive fan film ever... drowned in its own mopiness. I didnt know shannon was playing Zod ( didn't really follow buzz on this one) But I am interested in seeing his performance. It's just too bad Snyder is good at setting up pretty compositions but not actual scenes.
