Fake - I love horror. Love watching horrible things happen to people and to animals and monsters and whatever. I like lots of crazy blood and guts - Because I know it's not real. I like when a film can get me emotionally involved. I have mostly female friends, so rape scenes affect me badly. But a lot of times it makes me love the film all the more, because then you get to watch horrible things happen to the asswipe(s) that did it.
I can sit through the real stuff, but I don't like it. I avoid it because it isn't disturbing in a fun horror movie way - it's disturbing because a living thing (people and animals) are being made to suffer, or their suffering is being used, for entertainment. Frankly, anyone who is entertained by such things should get themselves checked out. There is something wrong with them.

I cant do the Faces of death movies, Someone bought me a couple for Christmas (I guess they thought since I loved horror Id like those) But Its just not for me. The world is full of its own real horror and we watch enough of it on the news everyday and it makes me sick.

Definitely don't like the real stuff. As others have said, movies and other forms of entertainment are an escape from acknowledging the random cruelty that exists in abundance in the real world. I even get a dirty feeling from movies which are fake and yet do an amazing job of shooting a scene that makes it seem so real (one scene in Yellow Brick Road comes to mind).
The more over the top and ridiculous the gore is the more enjoyable and fun it is to watch because it's so far from being realistic. It's always the small details that make me squirm like someone scraping their fingernails across a wall/floor and they peel back=p

Agreed. I wasn't really bothered when I was watching neurosurgery, but just entertainment from that isn't cool. I don't even like acted out rape scenes for obvious reasons. The only thing I'll watch that has real acting/actors in it is Freaks, but then again there's not really any killing or such and that's kind of a category of its own.
