Caught this UK dramedy the other day and thought it was pretty good, despite its unoriginal storyline. The flick basically follows a guy named "Wild" Bill, who gets released from prison after serving several years. He makes his way back home to find his kids grown up and their mother missing. The reluctant father is now forced to look after the kids or else CPS will take them away.
As I said, it's not the most original of storylines, but it's the interesting characters and solid performances that make it stand out. The Bill character being the most intriguing since we know very little about him at all, except for the fact that he has quite a reputation in the small town and is someone not to be messed with. Even though there are negative influences around him, Bill attempts to go straight, but soon discovers that his youngest son is heading down the dark path that he once ventured.
Worth a look if you're into themes like this or just want a good UK dramedy. 7/10
