    ABC's of Death

    The ABC's of Death

I put this same post in "Most Recent Horror Movie You Just Watched" as well.

I Found it to be very "meh"

    FROM THE DIRECTORS OF
    HOUSE OF THE DEVIL
    HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN
    A SERBIAN FILM
    TOKYO GORE POLICE
    YOU'RE NEXT & Many More
COMES THE GENRE EVENT OF 2012

Twenty-six directors. Twenty-six ways to die. The ABC’s OF DEATH is perhaps the most ambitious anthology film ever conceived with productions spanning fifteen countries and featuring segments directed by over two dozen of the world's leading talents in contemporary genre film. Inspired by children’s educational books, the motion picture is comprised of twenty-six individual chapters, each helmed by a different director assigned a letter of the alphabet. The directors were then given free reign in choosing a word to create a story involving death.

Provocative, shocking, funny and ultimately confrontational, THE ABC’s OF DEATH is the definitive vision of modern horror diversity. Drafthouse Films, Magnet Pictures and Timpson Films are proud to present this alphabetical arsenal of destruction orchestrated by what Fangoria calls "a stunning roll call of some of the most exciting names in horror across the world."

Yeah, pretty much. There were times where I just wanted it to be over already. I'm not a fan of those types of films that are strictly for gore and gross out content.

You would also think that for a movie with 26 "episodes" it would be extremely long but it wasnt. It was just under an hour and 45 minutes, which to be honest seemed like an eternity.

The movie has some extremely strange shit going on and it is all for shock value. There is nothing of any substance here other than that. There is even a claymation episode

I'm sure there will be members here that will enjoy it, but it is not my cup of tea. If I had to pay to see it I wouldn't have bothered since I knew what I was getting in to with it

So "meh" is my way to early in the morning synopsis, just as yesterday when I posted about it. But since you wanted to know more...I can't disappoint ya

I'm not much on reviews, I'll either say I like a movie or I don't. If asked or debated I will go into detail as to why.

Ah, I see. If it's mostly just gore and shock content then I probably won't like it much either, but there are many other members on the board that like that kinda stuff. I'll give it a look either way, though. Reviewing it though, might be a bit tricky for me

Reviews are tricky in general for me. I'm just not good at it. I don't even like reading reviews to be honest. I will check out the overall grade or score of a movie in its review but not the content of the review.

I'm sure if you look around you will be able to find this one

I just think it'll be tricky for me to review sine it has so many short segments. I think if there's not much of a coherent story to most of these segments and if they're more like random skits, then I guess reviewing each one isn't necessary

The description I was able to find and put into the original post does describe it very well. It's like a book of children's nursery rhymes. Yes, it is as strange as it sounds.

On the plus side most of the effects were good. However there is some crappy CGI thrown in, not sure if on purpose or not because like I said it is a weird movie. The shitty CGI may very well be on purpose.

Don't know if I can sit through 26 shorts, I have a feeling many would get repetitive as it's just a cheap FX delivery system.

Movie pretty much sucked. Out of all 26 segments, I actually only "liked" less than a handful of'em (3 or 4), which says a lot considering. Like Mac said early on, almost all the stories exist simply for shock value, and nothing more. Will post a more detailed review shortly.

Are there really twenty six short films in this? I have the attention span of a guppy so this would suit me down to the ground but 26 mini-films all in one go? Even if each one was 5 minutes long that would still add up to over 150 minutes. I'll be sure to check it out once it shows up on KAT but bugger me, 26 shorts? I haven't done that since my 18th birthday and I was sick everywhere that night.

Is it any good on a ratio of 17 to 6?
