    Seven Psychopaths (2012)

Just barely heard of this flick. Looks like it could be fun. I like the cast

A struggling screenwriter inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends kidnap a gangster's beloved Shih Tzu.

Christopher Walken! I'll watch it for that reason alone.
I don't think it looks bad, strange concept, but awesome cast.
    They're missing John Malkovich

Checked this out last night, it was merely OK. Walken steals the show pretty much just because he is Christopher Walken. He is his old natural self here with some scenes where he seems to be playing himself in an over the top sort of way, but it works.

The problem is the script itself as the movie is all over the place. Kind of a wasted cast of amazing talent. I really thought although the cast is so amazing that Woody Harrelson would actually be the best one. Sadly he isn't and his role left me scratching my head a bit.

This isn't a bad movie but it's far from great. One would think with this cast the movie should be a surefire home run, but it is not. Anyone on the fence should probably skip it. Anyone who is a Walken fan can't miss it. In all honesty I may see it again just because he is so great. But damn, this movie really dragged along.

Yeah, I was a little disappointed with this flick. It started off pretty strong and kept a good pace up until a little passed the mid-mark, where it seems like the storyline just kinda reached a halt and didn't know where to go for the next 15/20 minutes. Aside from the script issues, I really dug the characters, some of the comedy, and the surprisingly decent amount of blood. Unfortunately, since the a big chunk of the movie doesn't really go anywhere it feels like filler and causes the movie to suffer overall. I think peeps lookin' for a quirky violent crime flick may dig this to a certain extent, but don't expect much to come outta it. 6/10

I thought it was brilliant. Absolutely hilarious and hyper violent.

It's definitely geared towards people who enjoy black, offbeat, dark crime capers.

The cast are amazing, especially Chris Walken and Sam Rockwell. It's also good to see Colin Farrell flex his acting muscles in a film that's not a shitty generic remake.

For a comedy the level of violence is staggering.

    Like 'Total Recall'.

And 'Fright Night' wasn't much better.

I think both are pretty poor. Just bland rehashes of really good films.

Fright Night I can see, but I felt the Total Recall remake was changed so much that it was almost a whole brand new movie on its own.

I see what you mean. They did change a lot but it felt like it was action scene after action scene. It was relentless and gave me a headache. Kate Beckinsale is a pretty badass villain but overall it just felt like I'd seen it all before. It would have worked a lot better of they didn't include any of the originals lines and scenes. Plus making it PG-13 was a bad move, considering how bloody the first movie is.

Agreed, there were definitely some scenes that felt forced and seemed to only exist to play off the original. It definitely would've benefited from an R rating as well. Still, I think I mostly enjoyed it because I went in expecting very little and came out fairly entertained and in the end, but hey that's me

I thought with the cast and potential with the initial story this movie fell very short of expectations.
