Please, someone just kill off Chucky. Haven't the studios squeezed enough money from this franchise? Child's Play 1-3 are the only true good ones.

I love the first one and pretty much cannot stand the rest due to the comedy element they thought was smart to add. The first scared the fuck out of me when I was young.

They didn't start bringing the black comedy element to the forefront until the fourth film 'Bride of Chucky'. 2 is a really solid sequel as it is the closest in tone to the original. 3 is the most mean spirited but falls flat creatively. It's a passable watch though. I felt the all out black comedy worked for 'Bride' as it was a fresh injection the franchise needed at the time. However, it was taken too far with 'Seed'. It's similar to the ANOES series. Elaborating on Freddy Krueger's twisted humour worked for 'The Dream Warriors' only for it to start to get saggy with 'The Dream Master'.

Seed did take the comedy way too far and the resulting film was pretty poor. I've tried watching it a few times but I find it ridiculous. I could get my head around Chucky getting married, but spawning a kid was way too silly of a premise.

I've always like this franchise, though. The first two are the best and 3 and 4 are decent flicks.

I hope Mancini drops the comedy for the new film and brings some of the scares back.

Good comparison to the Nightmare series and Dream Master. I kind of enjoyed Bride of Chucky, but Seed of Chucky was almost unwatchable.

Potential early artwork for the film. It was posted on Fiona Dourif's instagram. People are saying it's a CD for the soundtrack to the film, but my guess is it may be a finished print of the film put in that case for an advanced look just for Fiona and other key people in the production, but this is all speculation right now. Either way, it looks to be early legit artwork. Supposedly a trailer will be released sometime soonish. I'm guessing since this has been "leaked" the actual artwork will be out soon as well.

I never saw Seed, but I liked 1-4, and if they make this darker like the original 3, that would be a step in the right direction I think. I want to see a trailer.

Bummer it's straight to DVD after seeing some of the crap that will be in theaters. I'll be getting it, no doubt. Any word of the remake that they were planning?

I wish they would go back to putting "Child's Play" back in the title of Chucky movies. I also wish Alex Vincent (Andy) from the first 2 Child's Play movies would at least make a cameo in a future Chucky movie.
