I'd like to see it in theaters, but as others here mentioned, no one else I hang out with wants to go see a horror film. So, I'll be waiting for the DVD.

i'm in sort of the same boat, but this creates one of my favorite and most rare filmgoing rituals, one that occurs all too rarely and usually for a movie like this one: going to the movies alone. i love to see a movie by myself, and, if i can swing it, this one'll be no exception.

i enjoy all the tcms. the first one is like the blueprint for what we do, the second one brilliant black comedy wrapped in total apeshit insanity, the third, a good time. didn't see the matty m./renee z one, was entertained by the remake/boot/whatever and actually quite liked beginnings or whatever that one was called. not a bad resume for this franchise, really.

leatherface is like an awesome killer of id and sexuality, his family a merry band of equal opportunity carnivores feeding human meat to would be bbq eaters, who deserve nothing less--in this radical vegetarian's mind--to be inadvertent cannibals. as a native texan (more or less), the texas vibe cannot be undervalued.

while i may one day watch that one, y'know if i stumble upon it on tv late one night, i have no intention of seeing it. i don't wanna wreck tcm's track record of brilliant to acceptable movies. but if that's the only miserable one in the bunch, thatstill aint bad. i think leatherface tcm 3 is very underappreciated.

The theatrical cut of TCM III is just as bad as 'The Next Generation'. The unrated version makes it just okay.

The one redeeming quality is Matthew McConaughey's performance. The co-writer of the original Kim Henkel wrote and directed this turd.

Love 2, was great to see Bill come back for this one even though he was sans metal plate.

As for Next Generation I didn't hate it. I think it is the weakest of the francise but it isn't a bad watch. Even though it isn't Leatherface heavy I think it gives a bit more of the family dynamic, specifically how people come in to keep it going.

Just got back from seeing this and thought it was a worthy entry into the franchise. For future installments I just hope they drop the 3D aspect because some of the gimmicks in the film got on my nerves a little bit.

As for the time line stuff, yes it's laughable... but I didn't let it bother me too much.

Just got back from it... I liked it to an extent, but hated the ending... its comical. I did like how this was a contiuation of the originals, but hated how they ignored 2,3,4. I liked the cameo by Bill Mosely, and the main girls boobs....

Agreed, it just seemed like an odd place to start. It doesn't fit with the remakes which is fine but it seems weird to ignore all the other installments of the original. Guess they didn't want to pick up after Next Generation.

I haven't seen the unrated version, just the theatrical cut.

The theatrical cut is an abysmal chopped up mess. It makes it look like the film was directed by a monkey. The unrated version is superior making it just an okay film. It's nothing special but it's entertaining. 'The Next Generation' is by far the worst of the franchise and it wasn't cut at all.

I had mixed feelings about this movie. It started out kinda obvious and routine, but it went in a interest story direction near the end, so I give it points for being different than the other TCMs. At the very least, it's average. It could've used some nudity. And like in a lot of slashers, the characters didn't always act logically. SPOILERS: The sheriff had to be pretty dense to let a chainsaw murderer walk free at the end, without even trying to arrest him. And I don't think many attractive young women would agree to an arrangement where they would live in a house and have to feed and watch over a deranged lunatic in their basement.

Great 3D effects, too.

It's not that he didn't know everyone knew. The sheriff was never okay with what happened. He figured leather face deserved some revenge against the man that helped kill his family. Hence why he hesitated with the gun. This is proven when the sheriff says something along the lines of "now we are even don't let it happen again." Though Heather is a stretch think about it she really had nothing at the end of that movie. He was the only real family she had and taking care of him is the only way she kept the house
