Looks like Miike's got some good shit coming up. I'll admit I can't handle all his movies..
Man In White and there's another who's title I can't recall, were sickening.
Not in subversive content, in absolute shit. The one was about a girl wrestler. oh fuck how I want to forget it

Yes he's very hit or miss, but if you've got the time and don't mind wading through some trash, Miike does have an impressive filmography, and this Lesson Of Evil looks awesome.

A definite must watch for the coming year. Miike is yes, hit or miss. His book Agitator is an interesting read for an indepth look at his film history. Yup, yup, good stuff is coming down the line.

Caught this earlier--pretty crazy, but good film. For the first hour the Teacher just offs people one by one that get in his way or whom he feels are troublesome, but it's the second half where he goes straight insane and traps all the students after school and guns them down with a hunting shotgun. A flick like this would never be made in the US, that's for sure. It's just relentless and violent. At one point he shoots several students point blank after a group of'em get trapped against a wall; like shooting fish a barrel.

As violent as it is, it's actually not very gory. A lot of the shotgun scenes just have a quick spray of blood before their corpse flies off. Either way, it's still pretty effective and chilling to witness. There's a little bit of that Miike weirdness added in for good measure to show how crazy the teacher is, like when the butt of the shotgun grows an eye and mouth and starts talking to him

Only issue I really had with the flick where a couple minor plot-holes and a flashback sequence involving "American" actors. I may review it, but either way a pretty solid 7/10 from me. Nice to Miike back in true form.

Just watched it. Found it to be a really solid movie. Whole lot of shot gun blasting going on in this movie. 7/10 for me.
