Watched two good twists on the "romance" genre recently, the first being Seeking a Friend For the End of the World and now this. Rare to find two well-written and compelling twists on sub-genres such as this, but I'm glad to have discovered them. In this movie we follow a lazy journalist and a couple interns, who all work for a small magazine where they're sent off to cover an article on a man who placed an ad in the newspaper about needing a partner to go back in time.
Aubrey Plaza (April from Parks and Recreation) stars in the flick as kind of an emotionless, passive person (pretty much her April character). That is, until she meets this supposed time traveler. Though its described as a comedy, its more of a sci-fi romance, in my opinion, with minor comedic elements. Either way, this is another solid flick for those that like an interesting mash of sub-genres. Also, if you enjoyed Seeking a Friend For the End of the World then I'd recommend giving this a look as well. 7/10
