Movie was entertaining enough. It was the weakest of the 3 though IMO. I missed War Machine, although Tony constantly making fun of the Iron Patriot was pretty funny. I did enjoy the change with The Mandarin.
I don't read the Iron Man comics so it doesn't really bug me that they changed Mandarin so much. I love Guy Pearce so I thought it was great to see him this movie. He did a great job playing the part he had. And being from Tennessee it was a cool surprise to see Tony come here. Iron Man goes to Tennessee....I'd never see that one coming.
My 2 main gripes with this movie was the fact Tony spent WAY to much time out of the suit. I mean you want all that character story development and all that, but the name of the movie isn't Tony Stark. Its Iron Man. I mean you don't go see Spider-man hopin to see an hour and a half of Peter Parker. And my other complaint are the villains. And by that I mean the bomb people...whatevers. They were extremely generic. I feel like we've seen that 100 times before. Somebody whose power is heat or for some reason or another they're turning red and burning all the time. Shoot fire whatever. I feel like I've seen that so many times these villains felt like they just thought them up out of nowhere. I would have rather seen something else. Or atleast use a different approach with the Extremis. Give them a unique look.

I don't read much of the Iron man comics either which is why I'm not bent out of shape about it. But as I understand it, the mandarin is his biggest nemesis. Imagine if they did that to the joker in a new line of batman movies. So i'm more pissed off in theory than because i'm actually offended. But still.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. Just saw it today. I really liked the way Kingsley played the Mandarin, and then when they got to the twist... I don't know. It's smart, but all the stuff with Extremis and the CG effects... I don't know. Guy Pearce was good though. So was RDJ of course, and I liked his interactions with the kid. The movie was well done, and I definitely liked it more than Iron Man 2, but something felt a bit off. I wish I could've just watched it in 2D... the 3D glasses here suck.

Agree with you Chief...way too much time outta the suit. Otherwise, it was alot of fun and RDJ IS Iron Man imo, ....plays the character so well. Must say I was pleasantly surprised.

I am a bonafide Iron Man fanboy.. Iron Man has been my favorite comicbook hero since I was a young child and what they did with the Mandarin is fucking SHAMEFUL... FUCK this movie. I absolutely hated this flick.

I'm more or less on the same page as you are. Most people who are okay with it aren't really iron man fans. To see his biggest nemesis reduced to that is unforgivable. Just imagine if they did that shit to the joker? Everyone would burn that movie to the ground. But because some people aren't as familiar with the mandarian and starks relationship this is somehow ok.

I just thought it was really boring. Didn't hate it by any means.

Another thing that occurred to me that was wrong with this flick was his armor needing to recharge all that time.. They established in the other movies that the arc-reactor in his chest is what powers the fucking armor.. did they forget that little detail???

This movie was awesome! I loved it the action scenes were fantastic and it all moved right along. Great story and it still seems even after doing Tony Stark for four movies plus a cameo in the Incredible Hulk he still really gets into this role. I was kinda disappointed that Tony spends much more time out of his armor but the film was a nice change of pace after The Avengers. It was the movie character heavy of all the Iron man flicks so far. They did the Extremis story line from the comics I would like to see Armor Wars in an Iron Man 4 where Tony starts fighting other super heroes and trying to destroy all the Stark Tech when it starts getting out.
For those who have never read the Iron Man comics The Extremis story line kinda served as a remake of the original comics. It reset the whole history of Tony Stark it updated his characters origin to the Modern day and started re numbering from 1.
