I've seen far worse acting than what Danielle Harris offered in the Hatchet films, plus like others have said, who really expects good acting to come out've a campy slasher anyway?

I don't think her acting was close to bad enough to wish death upon her rather than having her reprise a roll. And let's not forget that even great actors can suck at times depending on the direction they're given. (not saying that she's a great actress, just saying there could be various reasons her acting was not to a viewer's liking, after all, she obviously wasn't told to do anything differently.)

Taking not liking an actors performance a little seriously there man. I get it, you don't like her...or her acting (haven't figured out exactly which) but this comment is rather juvenile and you kind of come off as a tool.

Been here many, many years and I have never actually seen someone state something such as this.

I say shit like it all the time. About many people. It happens being a Misanthrope, there is zero need to take it seriously or get all butt hurt. It's pretty much my sense of humour. I'm not one to be taken seriously.

Who looks for good acting in a 'Hatchet' movie?

I mean, why else would someone want good acting from a slasher flick?

Plenty of Slashers have good, or decent acting. And I generally don't worry about the acting much, but when someone is doing so badly every time they speck I want to take a cyanide pill they fail. And what was with her eye? I've never noticed it before in any other film, but it was so, so annoying in this.

Don't worry about it people. There are plenty of people that hide behind their keyboards and say things they don't mean to try to act cool.

I wouldn't say I've seen worse, I've seen equally as bad. It's pretty much the bottom of the barrel. It would be completely different if it wasn't really a "serious" role. One the original chick did it well, Harris didn't.

At least Oxley is answering everyone...most people that make statements like that in this forum just end up leaving or posting 5 months later...again they are your opinions..everyone can have em...however D Harris is just curious to see what here movie is like...the one she is directing....

And I don't class someone who is mainly in horror films as a 'scream queen'. More so the notable ones, who are in typically decent films. But the term is open to interpretation.

I was thinking the same thing. As a nerd, I see this terminology all the time. It's when people have no other comeback for something, so they try to reverse the argument on you, basically calling the other person a cry baby and not to get too worked up with what they're saying. So, they say, "Don't get butt-hurt bro!"

But as I said, I'm a nerd and play a lot of nerdy PC and XBL games. I see this terminology all the time and I do have to agree, that only children use this word.

As for DH..She's amazingly hot, one of the sweetest people I have ever met (I know you were all "butthurt" about me saying she was sweet ) and is in some damn fine horror flicks. If you're going to wish death upon anyone, wish it upon yourself. I also have a sick and twisted personality and that's how I know you're just saying things for attention on here, which you lose -10 respect points for.

She was so cool. It was my buddy's bday when we met her and we brought it up to her and she introduced us to her friend or boyfriend who's birthday it also was. We were talking for a few minutes despite the line behind us. She let me take a picture for free with her and she was all smiles. A fantastic person.

I think the biggest problem with Hatchet II had to do with the direction and editing. Harris had to be even more emotional and intense in the Zombie Halloween movies and the difference here is Zombie is a much better director. Even if you hate the whole super white trash style of these and his other, pre-LORDS films, from a craft standpoint, knowing what to do with actors, knowing how to frame a scene, knowing how to edit, pretty much anything to do with the "how" to make a film.

Green isn't in the same league as a filmmaker.

The 1st Hatchet was great... I loved it... On the other hand... I didn't really enjoy Hatchet 2 that much... I still bought the blu-ray though ... I'll still be looking forward for the 3rd.

I didn't mind either of the Hatchet movies. The first is obviously better, but the second had some awesome and brutal kills. This new one has Derek Mears who is friggin' awesome so I'll definitely check it out.

I had plenty of "comebacks" however I didn't want to be offensive. If you're unaware, which you seemingly are, I used the term to imply not to get offended by what I said. I don't see how using it in that tone is deemed as "turning an argument". And you've lost respect for me? That's cool, I don't even know you so I've zero for you anyway. Maybe, I haven't seen Greens other flick, Frozen or whatever it was? I heard it's decent though. Zombie has grown as a director, his first film was utterly woeful though. Zombie's main problem is he shouldn't be able to write.
