Felt about the same way. Though I like the first segment the least. It was a cool idea and not something that gets done all the time I just wasn't thrilled with the execution. The other ones were pretty spot on, the "ghost story" didn't even bug me which is pretty rare (just not normally into ghost stories). I also had no issues with the wrap around. It wasn't great but at least it was a bit different.

If anyone is looking to watch an anthology, Trick 'R Treat is the way to go. That movie is 100% pure awesome
I honestly can't think of one negative thing to say about it

I haven't watched the 1st one yet, either. I'll have to check it out this weekend since it's streaming on NetFlix. I like some of the directors and/or the films the directors for the sequel have done, so I'd be interested in watching the sequel. I won't do so without watching the 1st one, that's just cheesy.

VHS 2, actually titled S-VHS has a review up. Now this sounds promising!
I have the chance to see this Saturday...depending on the weather. We are supposed to get blasted with snow now.

The second story by THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and LOVELY MOLLY's Eduardo Sanchez and Gregg Hale, follows a cyclist who stumbles upon a pack of hungry zombies. What makes this outing unique is that the cyclist, who has a camera strapped to his helmet, is quickly turned into one of the undead, and the rest of the short lets us experience a zombie rampage through the eyes of a zombie. This is one of those ideas where, after seeing it, you're gobsmacked at the fact that no one's done it before. It's pretty unique being put into the shoes of this hungry monster, getting a first-person view as he devours anyone he crosses paths with- while still maintaining a tiny shred of his humanity, leading to an unusually affecting end.
While I enjoyed the first VHS, it can't be denied that S-VHS is certainly a big step forward, and if the franchise continues, I could see them getting bigger and bigger.

More from that review:
For me, the third segment, by THE RAID's Gareth Huw Evans and Timi Tjahjanto is by far the best. Running a good forty minutes or so, it's the longest one, and it's certainly S-VHS' centerpiece, as we follow an Indonesian news crew as they try to film a documentary at a compound operated by a doomsday cult. Evans and Tjahjanto use the extra time to slowly build their story- eventually leading to a gore-soaked climax that just may set a screen record for one of the most violent extended sequences ever made.

I dug the 1st one a lot.......so I'm hoping the second is just as good
First time my knife touched skin
And the red blood started flowing so quick I just couldn't quit
Kept stabbing until everything that I seen was red
The pillow, the blankets, the walls, and even the bed
One color dominating everything like contemporary art
Am I the killer or artist with bloody heart?
Then I curled into a ball in the corner of the room
Feeling like a creep in the light of the moon
