When it comes to horror movies, opinions are like ax holes: Nearly everybody's got one.

So Wired.com went straight to the experts for this frightful film roundup. Since 1979, horror magazine Fangoria has waltzed on the bleeding edge of the genre, dedicating itself to coverage and criticism of gore, splatter and exploitation films and the people that make them.

Just in time for Halloween, we asked four of Fangoria's savants of slash — Editor-in-Chief Chris Alexander, Managing Editor Michael Gingold, Director of Marketing Bekah McKendry and Contributing Editor Sam Zimmerman — to spill their guts on the top 25 horror films of all time.

As much as I love "Inside" and "Let the Right One In" I wouldn't put them in a top 25 list "of all time"......and "The Wicker Man" not even close ha ha , like Miss Dub mentioned where is NOTLD ?!?!

The funny thing about this list is they consider Fangoria the end all, be all of deciding such things. Realistically there is no such thing. Everyone has their own preferences and tastes. Although Fangoria is outstanding the only way I can look at their list as being official is as an official OPINION. Just like anyone else's list.

It's not that it is a joke, it's that it doesn't make sense to have a "definitive list" because as you proved in your own post...you disagree (others disagree more). Everyone has their own likes and dislikes so ultimately there is no such thing as THE LIST.

Someone doing a list of their favorite movies is one thing but for someone or a publication in this instance doing a list and pretty much calling it "definitive" is ridiculous.

There's really there's no way to narrow a list like this down to 25 without ending up with a few glaring exceptions and or omissions.
Solid enough mostly for what is there, but flawed. At least there was no mention of Chucky.
