Twins sequel "Triplets" moving forward

A sequel to the 1988 Ivan Reitman comedy Twins that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito is apparently moving forward. Both actors will be returning, and Eddie Murphy will be playing the third sibling. Ivan Reitman will produce, but no word if he'll be back to direct.

The original film revolved around a genetically perfect man (Arnold) who goes to a city in search of his "twin brother" who turns out to be a small time crook (Danny) and look nothing like him. In this sequel they discover that they have another brother

I enjoyed the first flick, but a sequel? Really? Completely unnecessary, but I won't judge it yet until I see a trailer or something.

Yeah I guess the new strat in H town these days since the well of 70s/80s remakes will dry up soon enough will be just making sequels to every movie from anyone who made a dollar from another movie in another era.

That's what this is really. It doesn't even matter if the original made coin or not. Because it was Arnold a sequel will obviously make money.

That's the logic.

And Eddie Murphy has been terrible for almost 2 decades, 80s Eddie seems like a distant memory now.

I heard about this when Arnold came out of the Government seat. I'm not sure how to take it... I'd rather a sequel without a whole new brother involved. That sounds silly. I wasn't aware about Murphy though, I dunno, he is too silly in films these days, as long as his character isn't aimed at kids I suppose, which is what he has become.

Watching his early stand up shit, and what he does nowadays in film, it's hard to believe he is the same person.

Eddie Murphy is now a pod person, I get that. Nothing he has done in recent memory is funny, good or anything that we all love him for. But what the hell has Ivan Reitman done recently?

Going down his IMDB list the last funny one I can find is Coming to America (1988)

In all honesty, Murphy was pretty good in Shrek. Daddy Day Care wasn't that bad either for a kids flick.

But, that's all he has nowadays. Kids flicks. I want to see Eddie Murphy raw (no pun intended) and uncensored again.

The first Nutty Professor was alright. The only part that gets me is when he has the dream of him getting super big like Godzilla and he keeps getting fatter and fatter. Plus when he's making fun of Chappelle on stage was pretty good too. Other than that, meh.

Eddie Murphy hasn't been funny since the 80's. Now he just comes off as loud and annoying. I tried to watch Haunted Mansion around Halloween time and he had some of the worst dialogue I have ever heard. Wtf!!!

His last good movie was Another 48 Hours and that had 80s Nolte so its a wash.
