I noticed that too, but didn't bother me any. For some weird reason it added a sense of oldschool-ness () to it

    I'm a weird guy

I love the trailers because it still doesn't give to much away. You don't know why these things are happening. You don't know how much of this is going to take place on earth. Which really suprised me to see. I'm really excited.

EDIT: on the :55 mark. Is that ship called "Takay"?

Perfect Popcorn movie. Pure total fun. Def. worth checking out in the theaters.

    SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the Villain is Khan, or at least he's one of the villains, and there are so many call backs to wrath of Khan. Loved how certain scenes mirrored the original Star Trek 2 but they switched the roles. But where's Shatner's Cameo? Nimoy keeps popping up!

I didn't read your spoiler, but for future reference, use the tags and not just put SPOILER! above it.

Wife and I saw this yesterday. It was truly phenomenal. I've always been a trek fan (not a 'con going trekkie though) and, in my opinion, this is the best film in the entire franchise. From top to bottom, it was spectacular. Abrahms certainly has the Midas touch. I'm fairly certain you wouldn't have to be a trek fan to like this. But if you are a trek fan, you will certainly appreciate all the nuances and homages to the original series and movies.

this movie was WONDERFUL. It truly felt like Indiana Jones in space to me. Which is not a bad thing since Raiders of the Lost Ark is one of the greatest adventure movies of all time. I wanted a straight up old school wonderful action movie, and that's what I got. I can't wait to see it again. Peter Weller was awesome in this! And Cumberbatch was a great villain. It's weird because his voice doesn't fit his face to me. He sounds kinda like an angry Captain Picard which I find kinda funny.

To sum it up, I loved this movie.
YES, the story like has changed.
YES, the timeline is a bit off kilter.

Everything works though. It's beautifully done, the lens flares do not make an appearance =p (super happy about that).
It's been a while since I've actually cried in a movie...and I did with this...twice. Yes...i'm a pussy, but what can I say...this movie was so well done.

I really like the Klingons and their ships were beautiful. I'm a fan of Benedict Cumberbatch anyway, and he was just superb as a villian, especially one such as Khan.

It might be me being biased, being such a fangirl for Zachary Quinto...especially a Vulcan version of him. I don't think it is though. I cannot wait to see this movie again.

Really good movie. I'm not a fan of the original Star Trek's really, watched a few of the movies when I was a kid but don't remember them. With my childhood watchings of the films and doing a bit of reading in the past of Star Trek, I caught a few of the callbacks to previous films.

Despite the plot being a little on the bland side, it was awesome to see Peter Weller once again. Also the acting, besides Weller really (but that's fine cause he's fucking Robocop), was absolutely amazing. Cumberbatch played a fantastic villain.

I do need to watch this again due to me viewing a cam of it, but I need to purchase this on Blu-Ray. The first Star Trek (the remake) is one of my favorite sci-fi films ever and I think these films are made beautifully.
