Just do us a favour budding film makers PLEASE.

This is more advice then anything else and I am most certainly not trying to dictate things here. But please put some effort into telling us about yourselves please. Not just about your film company but yourself.

Who you are, your passions in movies, what drew you into taking that big step into making movies. Anything that will get us members at UHM to want to at least check your stuff out. Maybe even participate a bit here, I know filming can be tight with time but surely if you found the place you can at least give it a look at, after all that is what you want us to do with your film project.

All it takes is a little effort ok

Good advice It's very similar to the advice I give to aspiring writers You don't get on social network sites and say "BUY MY BOOK!" Make potential audiences interested in YOU (your brand) and they will, in turn, become interested in your WORK.

I have been here since 2004 and still don't promote myself here. There is one thread in the books forum that I update every so often and that is it. I give away more of my books here more than promote for people to purchase them. I have been here long enough where I enjoy helping aspiring writers more than selling my stuff.

I can understand the excitement people get when they have made something and go into a forum for the sole purpose to advertise themselves, however they have to realize they should be part of the community before USING the community.

It isn't, nor should it be, hard as a horror to do things like this. I think it is more than commendable what you do Macready

I'm stopping everything right now to do exactly that because you're right.

You all know me from just what little I post and in chat.

I was born in Saginaw, MI. At age 7, we moved to Kentucky where we settled. After school, it was various construction jobs. Concrete, roofing, masonry, gutters, vinyl siding, you name it, chances are I've done it. I even drove a garbage truck for a year that was a small family owned operation, worked at a sawmill for a while, bussed tables, etc. After my father died in 1996, I moved to the next town over and became a carpet installer for 8 years. During my time in that world, I partied as hard as I worked. Local bars where we all knew each other. Even did a bouncer gig at one place. Never had much of any trouble to speak of, just a few toss outs.

Spent a lot of my money on women, cars, beer, etc. At one time I had 4 vehicles. 2 Dodge Chargers, a Jeep, and a truck. Then there was the boat and 4 wheeler I had. The 4 wheeler almost got me killed, so I sold it. It also gave me the notion to be a stunt man. Funny how that turned out.

Then it was on to Nashville, TN. where I currently reside and started my dive into the film industry. I've met some good people along the way, some not so good. I've even worked in Los Angeles behind the scenes once. Moved out there for a while to try my luck, but wound up coming back to TN. and keep trying to make my own material.

So here I am living day by day. My regular job is at a distribution center. It pays the bills and I have weekends off. Can't beat that.

Of course I love horror films and action as well. I hope to make a series of horror films as long as I'm above ground. Hard to do and no such thing as original material anymore, but it's fun anyway. I also love heavy metal and still have a thing for fast cars.

That's about it. Hope I haven't bored you to death, lol. Thanks for reading and glad to be a part of the forum.
