First time my knife touched skin
And the red blood started flowing so quick I just couldn't quit
Kept stabbing until everything that I seen was red
The pillow, the blankets, the walls, and even the bed
One color dominating everything like contemporary art
Am I the killer or artist with bloody heart?
Then I curled into a ball in the corner of the room
Feeling like a creep in the light of the moon

Agreed. And I hate it when the protagonist stupidly ventures over to the knocked-out villain to grope for car keys, or tries to step over the slumped body (another stupid action, for you just KNOW he's gonna wake up and grab her ankle), or runs back into the house and up the stairs and into the attic or somewhere equally unwise. Blimey, talking about painting themselves into a very dangerous corner!

I am totally with you on the sex-obsessed, gabby teenagers. I have lost count of the times a horror movie has been totally ruined for me by this stupid, irritating behavior. The trouble with a lot of contemporary horror movies is this infuriating superfluity of sex-mad teens. The vampire romance craze hasn't helped either (make vampires SCARY again, for God's sake, instead of diluting them down to pretty-faced, misunderstood - but very toothy - pinup idols). We need another actor of Peter Cushing or Boris Karloff's calibre to make horror movies scary again.

I totally agree with you about that "padding out" of the early part of the film, with those annoying teenagers going on and on - their words often peppered with the most disgusting language - about their sex lives. Totally unnecessary, and detracts considerably from the horror.
Sadly, these teen-dominated horrors are becoming all too frequent now in Hollywood. Thank God for good old Hammer and Amicus movies.

I said this before, but nothing ruins a horror movie for me faster than a black person shouting, "WHY IT'S CAUSE IM BLACK?", "Why do I have to go first? Cause I'm black?", "Let the brother go first, I see".
In too many films and literally makes me sigh every time I watch it.
