Looks like the show is finally nearing its end, which shouldn't come as a surprise to those of us who have been watching. It was recently announced that FX has renewed it for a 13-episode season 7 and a final 10-episode 8th season.

Well the show is finally over. The finale aired recently and the show is now RIP. It was a pretty fitting finale, especially with the meetup between Stan and the family. Great series overall that never really had any bad seasons, in my opinion. I'd give the overall show a solid 8/10

Definitely one of the best TV shows of the last ten years, IMO. So many shows would have gone for a big blow-out finale, but this one did what it's always done -- kept the focus on the characters and skin-tightening tension. It's always been a slow burn kind of show, and while real-world history essentially dictated the characters were never destined for a happy ending, it actually was kinda/sorta a happy ending...
Spoiler......due to the fact that no one died. Sure, the family is split up and they'll probably never see each other again, but they're all still alive, so there's a dollop of an inkling of a tiny little shred of hope for them yet.
Anyway, a fine conclusion to a fine show. And if the Emmys snub Matthew Rhys AGAIN, there is no justice in the world. In a show blessed with exceptional acting, he still managed to stand out, IMO.

I applaud the makers of the Americans for having a successful show that the network was willing to throw millions at to continue, but instead sticking to the idea that they simply had a story to tell. TWD, im looking at you when i say this.
