Yup but Sony has said they are making the PS4 architecture with emphasis on easy development. With them having Blizzard on board, all of the indy developers they talked about and shown, plus Bungie's statements, the PS4 is seemingly a developers dream.

My thoughts on the announcements:

The System: Some good choices on it, the processor is interesting though not sure why they went with an 8-core CPU when it gets outperformed by quad cores. I'm guessing they're going to rely on the developers to take advantage of them. 8GB of next gen RAM is awesome and is much better than Sony's normal choices of under-RAMing the shit out of their systems. I say making it more like a PC is a brilliant move as opposed to making their stupid Cell architecture that was a pain to program for appearently.

Blizzard:
Who gives a shit? Blizzard has failed in the console world more times than I care to count. I'm sure the console version of D3 will be shit (even more shit than the PC version already is...*ZING*). Seriously though, every single Diablo fan I talked to was disappointed with D3.

Bungie:
So the guys who made Halo are going to be on a Sony system...ok lemme know when they make a game worth playing that isn't Halo. They have yet to prove themselves if you ask me.

Dualshock 4:
This is where I'm torn the most. I really dont give a rat's ass about touch panels or share buttons. Those are gimmicks that will be toyed with for 10mins. What I am excited about is the slight tweaking to the shape of the hand rests. This looks WAY better than the shape of the DS1/2/3. It more resembles the 360 controller which IMO is the best feeling console controller ever.

One of my major problems with the DS3 was that instead of "molding" into your hands like the 360 controller, it "rested" ontop of your grip leading to hand fatigue.
Going to concave analog sticks is a good choice and the changes to the triggers are good ones, though like everyone you really have to get it into your hands before you give a verdict.

Yes, I must admit the times I've messed around with my brother's 360 I did enjoy the feel of it's controller compared to my PS3 Dual Shock.

The question that’s not been answered in any real way is: “what happens if I want to sell my PlayStation 4 games?”

This means that there will, indeed, be opportunities for people to have a disk (Blu-Ray, as it were), play it, then pass it on to someone else with their own PlayStation 4 console.

But a question remains surrounding licensing. While every major game console today (pre-PS4 and Xbox 720) is able to swap games and consoles without trouble, rumors and tips leading up to this generation’s inability to play games that weren’t licensed specifically to them continues to linger.

On the other hand, it would appear that each instance of an answer from Sony thus far has been traced back to Shuhei Yoshida, Sony’s head of Worldwide Studios. Saying in one instance that “[used] PS4 games will work on [the] hardware” (via Engadget) and in another that “used games work on PS4″ (via Eurogamer), in both cases Yoshida was unable to clarify further.

What may be happening is that Sony is still in negotiations with game companies to decide whether they’re going to implement disk/console tying or not. Another possibility is that none of this used game selling/buying and using business is complicated at all, but simply that at this stage in the development of the PlayStation 4, Sony’s representation simply can’t legally comment on it."

Well unfortunately it sounds like Sony is backpedaling a bit and is back to their usual antics.

Sony's PlayStation 4 announcement last night notably included no footage of the actual console — and now, Sony Computer Entertainment of America CEO Jack Tretton says that's because the company still hasn't got it ready. In an interview with AllThingsD, Tretton said that "we’re certainly capable of showing playable game content, but we don’t have a mass-production box that we can bring out and pull out. That’s still in development in terms of final specs and design."

It's supposed to be released this year and they still don't have the final specs and design finalized yet? That's not a good sign, that means they are probably rushing it to be able to make it to the shelves this holiday season. A rushed launch makes the consoles more prone to hardware failures, just ask Microsoft.

Agreed. Not only that but all that gameplay shown is irrelevant at this point. All of it was rendered on a PC with specs based off of what Sony had provided. But if Sony themselves aren't certain of what the specs will actually be how is anything they showed legit?

I am more and more impressed by this console. I am excited for it yet sad to be possibly leaving Xbox after all these years.

So the latest rumor is Demon's Souls 2 (more likely a spiritual successor) is going to be revealed at e3 tomorrow as a PS4 exclusive, with original director Hidetaka Miyazaki at the helm after being replaced as the Dark Souls 2 director. That would mean 2 Souls games releasing possibly in the same year. If this is true I am definitely buying a PS4, used game drm or no.
