I absolutely love Darkman. Everything about the movie radiates a uniqueness and swagger not found in many of the other movies that are along the same lines.
The movie tells a typical story but with more than enough to make it different and Raimi gives it a certain quality to make it a super-fun ride. For me Darkman is one of those movies I can always watch.
With that being said I am against a reboot of it (doubt it was ever discussed) but what about forgetting the shitty sequels and bring back Raimi and Neeson to do a TRUE sequel to it?
Both men are box office draws now and I'm sure if Raimi pitched it he would get proper funding for it. Personally I would rather a Darkman sequel right now more than an Evil Dead 4.
Think about that for a second. With the Evil Dead reboot coming in April, which puts a much darker spin on it than Raimi's original we would actually have 2 completely different Evil Dead universes out there if Raimi moves forward with number 4. Something I'm not totally against but the scenario is a bit odd.
Darkman is a movie that deserves a true sequel and the way the stars have aligned with both Raimi and Neeson being "it" factors in Hollywood this almost seems like a no brainer.
