Beetlejuice 2 is happening, so it's best that we all simply make peace with it. Tim Burton is coming back and Michael Keaton will be reprising his role as the Ghost With The Most, and we should all just try to find the positive. And hey, here's a positive: Winona Ryder is coming back for the sequel! We all love Winona, and she doesn't seem to work enough, so it'll be nice to see her again. Talking to The Daily Beast, Rider reveals she's very excited to return, and is eager to let us understand it's a true sequel.
"It's not a remake," Ryder told the site. "It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later."
According to The Guardian goths never grow out of it, so it's plausible that Lydia could be in her 40s and still be dressed in all black!
If you're worried that Ryder would have joined Beetlejuice 2 no matter what, she lays that concern to rest: "I would never go near [a sequel] if it was not Tim and Michael," she said. "Because those guys, I love." So at the very least she's coming back from a place of real hope. Can we do any less?
