It'll make money on namesake alone (like the other 3) along with anyone curious to see what story (if any) they make up/tie in to the last 3 movies.
Point overall: This gravy train ain't stopping as long as Bay/Spielberg have their names in the credits. Seriously what else do they have going that would make as much money as this series is/has? Bay hinting at leaving over the last 2 projects (this one and DOTM) was just his way of teasing the fans of the 80s cartoon who hope he'll just leave, so they can get whomever they want in there for a gritty origins film.
The cast itself is interchangeable, though Wahlberg is an upgrade on Shia IMO.
Should've just brought back Jon Voight from the first film, and say fuck all the others.

well hound has been introduced for part 4, and I was happy about that for 5 seconds until I realized this is Bay's Transformers and he will probably not resemble anything near the Hound from my child hood, and I'm right. He's an Oskosh (that's so funny) defense FMTV. Hound is supposed to be a freakin jeep!!!

People of America and the World for that matter...if you want to prove yourselves to not be a complete waste of sperm let alone a douchebaggy troglodyte...find it in your MINDS as well as your HEARTS to watch something ELSE on the weekend that this time bomb comes to light.
If Bayformers 4 rakes in more money than the last few...it only shows that we're still battling with the morons of American society as well as any other. It's just a movie, sure, and I agree just because a movie makes a ton of money doesn't mean it's going to be good quality movie, but it's bullshit if you think that it doesn't matter how much a movie makes.
H-wood only pays more attention to the balance sheet than the quality of a film and through such terrible actions and those goddamn fucking focus groups along with the MPAA is why most movies that have originality or creative directors behind them are always punished so that they can make an easy cash grab as well as hurt the mental complicity of an entire movie-going audience.
I'm all for a few so-dumb-they're-good movies, folks, but only if they have SOME kind of redeeming value on its characters and or story NOT just because of the visuals.

It's been rumored for awhile now we will see Grimlock and the Dino Bots in part 4, and with a title like "age of extinction" that pretty much is a guarantee to me. Now normally I would be really happy about this because Grimlock was a huge part of my child hood. I love the guy! But its Bay...and I swear to God that if you fuck this up Bay I will come and find you. I find this really surprising though to be honest. Bay has been all about "realism" with his 40 foot robots (cuz u know, that makes sense) and doesn't wanna do anything off the wall and now he's gonna have dinosaur robots. Hmm....
