The movie will make money, there is no stopping that.

Bay has brought interest back to that franchise for the first time since what? The 80s cartoon? I don' think anyone except the hardcore fans who stuck with it growing up remember a thing about Beast Wars or any other material.

Bay has a new generation of kids who have seen the first 3 movies, likely have dabbled in the 80s cartoon by now and other source material. Its a money making monster again.

I'm not trying to sell anyone on Bay's work because I wouldn't either lol. When it comes to paint jobs though, Bay is quite good at it.

Add in inflation, the overseas market and China stepping on board to help Bay with the film and its unlikely to be a dud.

My point being, sadly I don't think this thing is going away no matter the results. The brand name is too popular right now. It'll take someone higher up than Bay/Spielberg to decide they wanna go in a different direction.

Hopefully the new TMNT bombs though. I don't think there is anything left to tell there and as much as they've tried shoving the Turtle back down our throats over the last decade. I'm just not sure they'll stick.

Exactly. You know what you are getting with this and Bay. This is going to be a 2 and a half hour movie of CGI action with giant robots kicking the shit out of each other. Once the kids get their fill of all of this on the screen, most likely more than once they will then purchase all the toys tied into it. The money this franchise makes isn't only with ticket sales but the merchandise that goes along with it.

Hate it all you want, but the fact that this will rake in an unbelievable amount of cash is undeniable.

Expect a teaser trailer at the very least for the Holiday Season films this Nov - Dec and a full trailer for the Super Bowl. They will get the hype train rolling early for it, as if they really need to.

Take all that Red has said as well as what I have just mentioned and apply it to TMNT too. Both movies are aces in the hole as far as making bucks goes.

Apparently this was filmed here in Chicago. There was an open casting call for extras. I was thinking about going then came to my senses.

I feel like my eyes just had sex.Did I just really witness Optimus Prime riding a giant dinobot while wielding a sword?Just the shier concept of that scene should trigger people into throwing money at their screens.This will either be the greatest movie ever made or the biggest reason to force Bay to stop making movies.

I am a lot more excited now than I was before the trailer I can tell you that. And was that flying thing Hun Grrr of the terrorcons? I at first thought it was swoop, but I'm pretty sure it was fighting bumble bee and had 2 heads. Hun Grrr had two heads.

The feel of the film is definitely different than its predecessors, at least from the trailer. I will definitely take my son to see it, hopefully it turns out to be as good as it seems.

A lot of that trailer had the look and feel of Dark of the Moon, mixed with some southern settings.

But really...whats the angle?

I don't actually expect much explanation. Just gonna assume its going to be...

1. Autobots go into hiding after TF3 for x amount of years
2. Sam isn't mentioned, just assume he moved to a different country
3. The Decepticons decide to attack AFTER the Autobots come out of hiding with the new characters
4. Dinobots will be the wildcard, but knowing what we know about Bay, he'll make them the baddies and completely ignore the canon in anyway

looks good to me. Got all "fuck yeah!" when Optimus came busting out of the barn. I like the fact he was fighting Grimlock in the trailer. For a long time in the cartoon the Dinobots didn't get along with anyone.

The CGI looks great, and the photography (every shot is like the money shot from a beer commercial), but that's all it's got going for it, as usual.

Don't know, this will probably suck. TF1 was aight, TF2 sucked.. didn't see TF3. The Dinobots are badass so I might see this. As long as Shia LeBoof isn't in it.

So this has Galvatron in it, does that mean Unicron will make an appearance?

as I've said I've more enthusiastic about this one cuz I love Grimlock and the Dinobots, but this picture goes to show why I hate Bay's Transformers so much. That could literally be freakin anybody walkin down that road. I wanna be able to go "OMG! look who it is!" And Orlock you're pretty much right about the order of movies, don't ever bother with 3. 3 is horrible and they did something that really really pissed me off in that movie.

remember these movies have managed to fool us three times already by looking 'cool' in the trailers and then horrible on screen. I'm not down they tricked me up until the 2nd one, then I skipped out. The third was unforgivable and that one had the best trailer.
